Big white to off white head quickly dies into a thin but lasting lacing above a clear copper golden colored beer.

Nice big spicy aroma without any thing in particular coming to mind, with maybe a bit of yeast sneaking in there.

Lots of dark rye spices coming through in a dryish taste.

The aftertaste is quite dry and full of rye on this medium bodied beer.

Pretty good stuff, takes a couple of gulps and gets better with each, I really think it's a beer worth seeking out for any of you in there distribution area.

12oz bottle into a pint glass.

A very careful pour yields a huge 4 finger billowy head. Body is slightly hazy and dark gold. Tons of carbonation bubble rising up.

The nose is very yeasty and has some peaches and lemon. A touch of barnyard funk but it is very faint.

The taste is very fruity with peaches, apples, lemon, and orange. There is a little syrupy sweetness on the tip of the tongue that is a little distracting. The taste becomes drying as it progresses but there is still that little bit of residual sweetness left.

I like very dry saisons and this one is just a little too sweet. The flavors are decent but overall feel is off. Anyhow, it is a pretty good thirst quencher and a refreshing beer.

Another one from Yazoo, this time thanks to JonnyGalt (Reddit). With one arm busy I had to pour a bit careless and a huge fluffy 3 finger head rises up and fades slowly, with nice lacing, over super hazy murky apricot orangish weird color.

Nose has a strong yeast aroma, light farmhouse saison aroma, light floral spices, slight hint of citrus and stone fruit, slight hint of rye, but mostly bready yeast aroma.

Taste brings a lot more fruit, a belgian yeast flavor with fruity esters, with a bit of apple and pear, sweet candi sugar and reddish caramel malts, light toffee, and slight syrupy taste, and some yeast flavors with light boozy esters. There is some spicy rye but not a lot, and pretty much no saison qualities. The finish is dry and a bit bitter from the yeast I think but a hint of hops, and spicy rye, but sticky and a bit of lingering belgian malt and candi sweetness. The flavor profile would be good for a Belgian single or something but nothing like a saison.

Mouth is med to a bit heavier bodied, slightly syrupy, good carb.

Overall not a very good beer, the nose is almost all yeast, flavor is all Belgian malts fruit and sweets with no saison flavors and just a little rye. Not sure if they made this beer blind or have no idea what a saison is. I almost think I got a bad bottle or something. it was bottled on march27 so only a couple months old too. Also, screw cap, really?! I have one more yazoo beer and I'm a bit worried about it. The other two I had from them weren't bad, so not sure what happened to this one.

Served on tap into a nonic glass at the Yazoo taproom

A- Poured a bright super hazy orange marmalade color. Despite the haziness, carbonation can be seen streaming along the sides of the glass. Frothy head that leaves some droppy lace

S- Some big spicy belgian yeast notes, bubblegum notes, and citrus

T- Lots of spice and belgian yeast flavors, citrus, and some light bubblegum notes. A very spicy saision

M- Very high carbonation, finishes very dry, refreshing. Very effervescent beer

O- This is a very refreshing and spicy saison.

A: Poured from bottle into a pint glass. Amber/copper, slightly cloudy, small half finger white head that dissipated quickly. Light lacing.

S: Sweet, bready, spicy, with a bit of hops. Brown sugar, yeast, smells really fantastic.

T: Almost tastes like Yazoo's hefe. Rye, spices, yeast, dry. Maybe a bit of the brown sugar I smelled. Really great.

M: Medium body, good carbonation.

Overall I really enjoyed this beer. I've been a huge fan of Yazoo for awhile, but I've been exiled 2 hours west of Nashville for a few years so I haven't been able to try anything besides the normal line that they bottle. I was really happy to find this beer in my local gas station, and I'll definitely be getting more. One of the better offerings from my favorite brewery.
