Downtown Brown was served in a standard pint. The beer is a light brown with a beige head.

Aroma is of gently roasted malts and some light brown sugar. It needs to be amped-up a bit.

Taste is slightly sweet with some malt, whole wheat crackers and a bit of plum. It becomes sweeter at mid glass. Can't believe it is 28 ibus as the hops are mia. It is easy to pair with food but fairly mild mannered.

The mouth has a tiny bit of heft and the beer borders on sessionable.

A: Clear amber color with a slight tan head.

S: Roasty malts, a bit of sweetness.

T: Matched the aroma. Roasty malts, a bit of caramel sweetness and mildly nutty.

M: Light-medium body, somewhat watery, and not too heavy in the flavor department.

D: Fairly drinkable in its smoothness, but not very tasty.

A: Pours more of an amber red then a brown color. A minimal bubbly beige head forms with little retention. Not much lace to speak of either.
S: Light toasted malt with some sweet caramel. Pretty much neutral after that, and not much else.
T: Again, pretty neutral. Just some sweet caramel malt. Nothing much else is noticeable.
M/D: A light to medium body. A bit thin and watery as well. Not hard to drink. Quaffable if you want to have a few.

Like I said, just kind of neutral. Nothing bad, but nothing that I would really recommend.

A - Poured brown with a tiny one finger head that disipated quickly leaving no lace and a light ring.
S - Scents of caramel, roasted toffee, earthy hops and a grainy/biscuity malt.
T - Lots of salty peanut and caramel. Hops are present, but only to the extent as to try and balance the nutty nature.
M - Chrisp with a decent amount of carbonation.
D - Not a bad choice, but there are better brews avaliable here.

Tasted on-tap 04/17/07 at Boscos in Little Rock, AR.

Clear light brown in color with a low light tan head. Light buttery and light nutty aromas and flavors. I've never cared for the diacetyl/butter character in beers. Light-medium bodied with a light nutty finish.

An average light English Brown Ale.

Attractive medium brown color with reddish overtones might have been this beer's highlight. Noticed a little toast initially. Moderately hopped, but not bitter. Not a whole lot of taste here. Did notice some nuttiness from the chocolate malt addition. Possibly a good point of entry beer to the more richly flavored browns. Not bad but certainly not memorable.

The beer arived on the table clear medium brown with low long lasting head that fell quickly and left a slight lacing.

The aroma was nutty with caramel and chocolate and a noticeable diacetyl presence.

The flavor was malty with caramel and diacetyl followed by a nutty and a chocolate presence. The nutty character was very well done. The diacetyl was just a bit high.

The finish was just dry with lasting nuttiness and chocolate into the aftertaste. The body was medium. This was a nice beer.
