330ml bottle with 5.0% ABV -- BB March 2014. Brewer syas "A rich malty black beer with hints of caramel and chocolate. Rather hoppy with a dry roasted finish. The stout’s deep chocolate colour and caramel sweetness are derived from the heavily kilned and roasted malts. Wort filtered to 15 plato, 35 IBU bitter hopping, bottled conditioned Best served at 8-10"

Pours clear, dark reddish brown with a good head.

Feel: a bit too thin but nicely smooth, with soft, medium carbonation.

Aroma: caramel and dark roasted malts with hints of coffee and chocolate.

Flavor: good balance; slightly sweet; nice roasted finish.

O: easy drinking, lighter Black ale that smells great.

Deep brown-black colour with little head.

The aroma is dull and has only hints of fruit.

The flavour is dominated by a heavy malt sweetness with lots of toffee and fruit. I don't get the roasty, chocolatey, coffee notes expected of a dark ale. It's a bit better as a schwartzbier but still too sweet.

Medium-light body with moderate carbonation.

A poor representation of a darker beer with this one lacking character.

Appearance- Rather Dark Brown when held to the light. Low carbonation and nice lacing. Little head retention.
Smell- Roasted malt notes from browned to burnt and an almost fudge chocolate smell.
Taste- Strong Fudge and walnut flavors and something else thats kinda fruity/funky.
Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied and low carbonation. It simply sits in your mouth.
Drinkability- Okay, something about that fruit/funk flavor is putting me off, its not your typical Schwarzbier.

Darkish cola-brown with caramel edges. Small, light tan head. Nose is cola and caramel sweet, with a little peat and tobacco. Roasty. Roasted malt has licorice-cola sweetness up front. Dark chocolate bitterness settles in. light coffee roastedness throughout. Moderate body with a slightly overcarbonated feel. Not bad.
