Pours a clear light golden copper in color with a white head that disappated quickly. Seems rather light in color for an amber. Regardless, the nose is pretty average... touch of caramel sweetness with a nice maltiness. Mouthfeel is nearly medium in body, but a little on the thin side. Taste consists of toasted malt, with some slight caramel. Finishes dry on the tongue. Fairly balanced and easy drinking. Flying Monkey is pretty harmless overall. I wouldn't suspect that it offend anyone, or really impress them much either.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/5 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of pale malt, slight sweet malt, hint of roasted malt, hint of caramel malt, hint of hop, and a hint of grass. Fits the style of an American Amber / Red Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight pale malt, slight hop, and a hint of roasted malt. Overall, average appearance, aroma, and body.

Poured into a standard pint glass. The beer is a light brown-amber color. A light cream colored head dissipates to a fine film with good sticky lacing. The beer smells bready and of malts. The beer tastes bready, doughy, and malty. It's a very mild taste and very drinkable. There's a slightly hoppy finish. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied, very drinkable.

Overall, not the best amber ale around, but a sentimental home-state favorite. Very easy drinking.

Clear filtered golden body a touch close to amber. Not very much head, but decent retention with the little available.

Crisp aroma, very grainy malt & sweet caramel.

Not much here. A light sweet grainy malt character, just a touch of hops and by touch i mean it, not much more than your standard BMC.

It is nice and refreshing. I know my scores won't really reflect it, but I don't dislike this beer. If you're in the mood for something light and refreshing, but want something with a touch of good grainy sweetness this beer can really hit the spot.

Bought this 4 months ago in Wisconsin, lets see how it held up. You get one inch of light tan head that fades fast leaving just a skim and a quarter inch of lace. Body is a very light honey tone. Nose is soft but has tones of minerals and nutty rustic tones, very standard for the style. Taste is very thin and a bit watered down. The same dose of minerals and woodsy nuttieness is there although somewhat soft. Flavor profile is a bit weak. Mouthfeel is a little carmelized and slightly thick. Not bad drinkability at all.

Pours a darker gold with very little head on top. Retention is lacking as is any sort of lacing or webbing. Smells of corn, biscuits, and vegetation. Reminds me of a lager...

Mouthfeel is nice and crisp which aids drinkability. Flavor is of buttered corn, malty breads, and finishes slightly bitter. Is this really an Amber Ale? Everything about this tells me this is a lager. Weird. Drinkability is surprisingly high. It's a good thirst-quencher.

This beer gets low scores by my judging it according to style. As an "Amber," this is horrible, but as a "beer" this is actually pretty good. If this was labelled as a lager, my scores would be much higher. Get your styles right, Flying Monkey!
