A - Poured out a jet black color with a small, short-lived head. Leaves small amounts of lacing.
S - Smelled of chocolate and roasted malt.
T - Tasted strongly of chocolate and caramel. Also, roasted malt flavors.
M - Soft and creamy. A medium-bodied beer.
D - Overall, it was a pretty descent sout. There are better, but this was certainly drinkable.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Weizen glass. L: with a name like four finger, I expected a huge head. Nope less than 1 finger fades to a small ring, limited lacing. Black opaque. S: roasted caramel, not bad. T: gets better as it warms. Taste follows smell. Bit of coffee and hint of chocolate come out as well. Faint wood smoke is in there too. F: thinner than typical stout. Creamy fades to a crisp dryness. O: not too bad for a local stout.

Pours a black color. 1/4 inch head of a tan color. Decent retention and decent lacing.
Smells of alcohol, roasted malt, sweet malt, hint of oatmeal, and slight hop. Fits the style of an American Stout. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt, sweet malt, slight hops, hint of oatmeal, and hint of alcohol. Overall, simple, but solid offering. The appearance is lacking, though.

Obtained a 6 pack at the local liquor store. I had this on tap a few years ago and was really impressed, so I decided to give the bottled version (recently re-released) a try.
A: First off, it's miss-labelled...with a vigorous pour I got one thumbs worth of head not four fingers. However, that's OK...looked nice and dark like a stout should with a nice tan one thumbs-width head. Left no lacing on the glass, though.
S: Burnt grains with a hint of sweetness. No hoppy smell at all.
T: Nice, more like an Irish dry stout than most American stouts, but with a lingering sweetness. Not overly alcoholic (4.8%), and minimal hops (very much so). All in all, a very sessionable stout.
M: Feels like a stout. Not too heavy.
Overall: This is a nice stout...perhaps with a little too much of a sweet after taste than I would prefer, but I'll definitely add this to my rotation of stouts.

Poured from bottle to an imperial pint.
A: Very dark brown with chestnut hues on edge of glass. Foamy cocoa head, not quite four fingers as the moniker might imply.
S: Strong nose of roasted barley and coffee.
T: Again, strong flavor of roasted barley and coffee, but also vanilla and a black pepper kick with a decent hops finish.
M: A bit thin in body, with a dryness that approaches a dry stout but not quite.
O: Nice flavor and otherwise a solid offering from local folks that have Weston brew their beer (is what I think I gather from their website).

Poured into a shaker pint.
Look: Dark chocolate black with mocha head that recedes to a wisp. Nice foamy rings of lacing.
Aroma: Charred grains, roasted malts, and dark chocolate, some oats.
Taste: Slightly watery, but roasted malts and bitter chocolate make up the body. Faint hops in the finish add bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Dry, medium weight.
Overall: Not the beer snob's choice, but I certainly like it.
