Poured a dark caramel color with an off whitehead that dropped slowly. Good head rentention and lacing

Slight peat smell and pronounced fruittiness

Taste: Malt/fruitiness and nice hint of peat and faint hints of hop spiciness. Caramel sweetness and dryness on the finish

MF: Chewy and warming. Slightly undercarbonated
But otherwise well balanced

Extremely drinkable. Asked the waitress about ABV, she couldn't track the brewer down (she tried) , my guessbetween 6&7%. I really enjoyed this. Love to see them bottle this!

This winter seasonal from the DAM is one of the better Scottish ales I've had in Colorado. It pours a transparent copper with good head and retention. The flavor has a strong peatiness up front to match the doughy textures of the brew and finishes with a whiskey-esque tone and aftertaste.

The only drawback I found in this beer is that it's not particularly complex--what you see is what you get. Nonetheless, this is an exemplary Scottish ale with great flavor and body and tremendous drinakbility. I'd recommend this as much (if not more) than any of the other brews I've tried at Dillon DAM and hopefully they will consider throwing this into bottles and making it a full-time brew.
