12 oz bottle. Pours a clear orange-brown with a small fizzy head that quickly disappears.

The aroma is earthy malts and sweet caramel with a touch of spicy hops.

The flavor is rather bland. It has some sweet watery malts up front with a bit of a spicy lightly bitter finish. The flavors become more apparent as it warms. The mouthfeel is medium bodied but watery.

Overall, a nice, albeit run of the mill, beer.

A nice orange to copper color.
(I did not get the "chunks" the first reviewer apparently found).
Decent off white head.

Some nuttiness in the nose. I found this brew compared favorably to Sam Adams Lager (which I intend as a compliment).

Sweet, no strong hop pull but a solid drinkable brew.

If you forgive the "Taste the Dam Difference" tagline, this is a respectable beverage.

Slight hops presesnce (mown grass) on the nose with wiffs of malt and alcohol.

Appearance is golden going to light light brown. Head started out nice with a big white foam ring, but dissapated over the course of fifteen minutes.

Slight bubbles accented the citrusy bitterness of hops and then some malt on the back of the tounge leading to a sweeter taste. Goes down very easy but makes me want more.

Needed a vigorous pour to raise a froth, and it was a passing fancy. Color of a used sugar maple cutting board. It has an attractive lace. Aroma of dried flowers and biscuits.
A nice couple layers of hop: Floral, spicy, a little sour. Fairly sweet, especially in the aftertaste where the beer comes across like a lightly spiced, day old scone.

A: A nice gold brown appearance, sparkling and very clean.
S: Typical Lager smell, maybe a little sulfide but not at a faulty level.
T/M: Slight malt taste with little to no hops and almost no aftertaste. Light mouth feel.

A good beer overall but not something that one could explore on a regular basis.

This beer pours a beautiful deep amber color, with a small tan head. I must say I love all the cheesy Dam related jokes on the bottle, and the imagination of the packaging adds another .5 to the appearance rating I would say. It smells mainly of malt, with a bit of caramel.. a nice smell in my opinion. The taste is fairly sweet, not a very hoppy beer at all, but I rather liked the way it tasted. As for mouthfeel, it was very smooth and creamy, quite nice. I think this is a very drinkable beer, I'd gladly buy it again.

The beer pours an amber color with a 1/2" white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a sweet pale and crystal malt scent along with some hops and a dry lager yeast aroma. The taste is good also. It has a dry yeasty flavor that boasts of pale and crystal malts and some German style hops. It's smooth and easy drinking. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good Marzen. It has excellent malt character and aroma. It's a smooth beer with good flavor; a fine sessions brew.

A - Pours a medium gold with a light amber tint. Medium head of foam with good carbonation.

S - Light smell with lemon and vanilla tones.

T - Lightly roasted grain prevails, with warm herbal undertones and a light citrus peel bitterness.

M - Crisp and clean. I could see this as a nice palate cleanser.

D - I would love to have a couple of these on a hot summer day after mowing the lawn.

This is my go-to beer at Dillon Dam.

A: Bright copper with a creamy head--it's vibrant and inviting.

S: The bouquet's is stunning. A complex mix of dough, flowers, cinnamon, and lemon.

T: Juicy throughout the palate, with a light pepperiness and a hint of lime at the end. This lacks some of the breadiness typical in Marzens, so it is lighter bodied and, consequently, that much more refreshing. A very palatable, if straightforward flavor profile.

M: Medium-bodied. Smooth, with a clean hoppy finish and a lingering bitterness.

D: Phenomenal--by holding back on some of the body, the brewers at the Dam seem to have improved on the Marzen style. This is one of the most refreshing lagers you'll find in Colorado.

Presentation: 12 oz longneck, no date information.

Appearance: Pours red orange with just a bit of haze. Thin head.

Smell: Malt sweetness and a grassiness. Just a bit of spicy hops.

Taste: Nice malty flavors, some caramel and grassiness, with a bit of noble hops to clean up the finish.

Overall impression: Very nice - one of the better year round Oktoberfest offerings.

Bottle obtained from Liquor Mart (Boulder) and consumed a short while later. Pours a one-finger light orange-tan head over a cloudy apricot blah liquid. Smells dry malt chalky with tettnanger hops. Hops over the malt, which is pretty mild smelling. Tastes sweet to start and which turns cool smooth sweet in the aftertaste. What a nice transition in the sweetness. Not sugary, very nice. Malt flavors are vienna, a hint of biscuit, toasted grains. A dry hint, almost iron-like in flavor works a chalky counter to the sweet to keep things a bit edgy. Oh, now I see...it's the hops. Nice play. The tettnanger hops from the nose just slip in with the malt. Right in line in regards to intensity and melding with the caramel and toasted grains. Well done, I'm really enjoying this beer. Md body that hangs on the tongue. Mild carbonation is an asset.

Man this was a nice smooth lager. It poured a well balanced dark orange color with a nice thin lace and perfect little bubbles flowing to the top. It smelled of apples and maybe some toasty nuts. Its taste was smooth and creamy with hints of malt sweetness and caramel. I found this to be a very enjoyable beer and agree with one of the other reviews comparison to Sam Adams. I tasted the DAM difference.

Tried 6 Feb 2009 at the pub.

Clear golden brown color. Small light tan head. Medium carbonation. Light aroma of caramel and sweet malt. Starts with caramel malt, lightly toasty sweet. Finishes with a slight earthy bitterness. Overall flavor is a bit on the light side. Medium body. Moderate alcohol.

Nice interpretation of the style.
