This is a medium-bodied, amber colored beer with a distinctive aroma and refreshing flavor. Northern brewer, centennial and cascade hops are combined with caramel barley to achieve a delightful balance of natural sweetness and assertive hop finish. Harvest Pale Ale is dry-hopped to give this beer an amazing hop aroma. It’s an excellent choice for the descriminating palate.

Taster at Ice Harbor Marina. Clear golden pour, thin, patchy white head. Light hoppy aroma, dusty. Taste is malty, classic hoppiness, piney, bitter. Dry finish.

Pils style schooner glass at their Marina restaurant, Harvest Pale Ale is a very hazy, rusty gold, with a thin off-white collar. Served ice cold.
Smell is fruity apricot esters and caramel, on the softer side, it really smells a lot like unburnt incense as it warms, very nice - where's the drum circle?
Taste is strong malt, spicy hops, fresh and grassy. Estery, with a caramel, malty tang, although it's to hoppy to be sweet. Nice citrus hops flavor and aftertaste without being to bitter, this is very yummy. Slight detraction for a bit of a tangy, boozy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is oliy, dry and crisp, with a medium body.
Drinkability is very high, this is a damn tasty pale ale, probably one of my favorites for the style (although I only had it once, so that is hard to claim).

I bought a six-pack of Ice Harbor Harvest Pale at the brewpub, poured in t0 a pint glass.
Pours a deep gold/bronze color and is cloudy after the sediments are summoned from the bottom of the bottle. One of the darker pale ales I have seen. A modest white head forms, but dissipates leaving minimal lacing.
The smell is a sweet sugary fragrance like caramel or molasses.
Taste is good, a sweet cereal flavor up front, with a mildy bitter hop finish. A bit of a caramel flavor in the mix as well.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, but not cloying. Probably not a real thirst quencher, but a nice mouthful.
A very drinkable pale. Probably not a great hot summer day brew, but I'll have to get some next summer just to be sure. I'll have this again.

I sampled this beer at the brew pub in Kennewick, WA while on a sampling adventure with imacoug.
A: Very light amber with a bone white head and moderate lacing.
S: It had a light malt aroma with a distinct floral hop accent.
T: It had a light malty sweetness followed by a bitting hop flavor. The hops were more floral than bitter and as the drink progressed the hops receded into the background and the malts emerged as the dominate flavor.
M: Light body with a clean crisp finish.
D: Nice balanced brew that is easy to drink long into the night.

A modest but drinkable ale with a slight meaty aroma, strong carbonation, and an eclipsed head trailing a string or two of lace. The taste has casual malt sweetness followed by (from the Ice Harbor menu) an assertive hop finish. Sounds familiar, but its hard to go wrong with the standard model if its done well. I found the yeast elements a bit intrusive and might have preferred a bit of cleaning there, but Harvest still balances on the plus side.

Bottle purchased today at Huckleberry's in Spokane for $1.29. First time I've seen bottles of this here (I've sampled and reviewed this on-tap via a growler bought at the brewery in Pasco). The downside was that there were no bottles of Ice Harbor's Stout. So I bought a mixed 6pk, 1/2 IH Pale, the other IH Red. I support this brewery because it's across the Columbia River from my hometown of Kennewick (and will soon be moving into new digs about a mile from my folks' house), and because so far, I find their beers tasty (though I've heard their barleywine ain't so great).
This poured a bronze-gold color, with a big, fluffy white head that took several minutes to drop. Lots and lots of lacing remained.
Smell is of piney hops, mostly, with a subordinate sweet maltiness. The hops are the stars here, but not to an overpowering degree.
Taste is of pine and citrus, with the pine being more dominant. The sweet maltiness is very much in the background, providing a balance but little else. For whatever reason, I think I picked up more maltiness when I got a growler of this. I don't mind the difference, it's tasty either way, but I'm curious what causes the difference. This tastes like a toned down version of their IPA, which, I suppose, is just how it should. Definitely an American Pale here, as opposed to the less hoppy but still tasty English style.
Mouthfeel is slightly oily - nowhere near as oily as an Anchor OSA (the first beer that inspired me to use the term "oily') - but still noticeable. I think the thickness is about right for a pale ale, but it would probably be too much for a macro pilsener drinker, as it's definitely a beer, not "beerified" water.
This would make a great session beer. I can definitely see myself pairing this with meat just off the grill on a hot summer day. Visit the brewery if you happen to be in the Tri-Cities, as the beers are quite tasty.

Dark Gold color, medium head. Aroma is malty and fruity. A medium bodied Pale Ale, somewhat fruity, slightly sweet, balanced with a sharp citrusy hoppyness. Crisp and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

copper bronze, clear, light carbonation, good creamy head.
Aroma of hops, hint of bread dough, very pleasant
Nice mouthfeel, hoppy as hell, pleasantly bitter. Hoppy bitterness with malty sweetness in good balance for my taste. Great flavor. (I love the taste of the Cascade and Centenial hops used here)
Very nice Pale Ale, quite drinkable. More, please.

A pleasant to the eye copper color as it sets in the glass, the head crowning the beer with the appropriate presence and the lace that remains clings nicely to the glass. Dominated by the malt with some aromatic floral tones and the Pale Ale archetypal citrus crispness to seal off the nose. Front is sweet, the top is lanky with a big hop punch at the finish and the carbonation moderate the aftertaste hop bitter and quite dry, certainly no SNPA, but a good Pale Ale in its own right.

Very deep amber with orange and ruby tints. Some haze. Pours a nice, full 1/2" cream colored head with fair retention, although it ultimately drops to a thin, whispy surface and light collar. It does, however, leave an exceptionally full lace. Nice hoppy aroma of earthy, grassy, piney, citrusy hops (more Centennial than Cascade) backed by a lightly sweetish caramel-tinged malt. The body is medium-full with a limited carbonation level that gives it a softy creamy mouthfeel. The flavor starts right up front with a Centennial hop flavor wrapped in dense maltiness. There's not alot of fruitiness in here at all. It warms to reveal some caramel maltiness as it crosses the palate, and finishes with a rousing bitterness followed by a lingering earthiness from both malt and hops. The long finish highlights the wet pine, resiny hop qualties. Some alcohol does become apparent throughout the pint and the hop bitterness and flavor builds in the mouth. Definitely American in character - all about hops. Somewhat filling. Bold. Aggressive; maybe lacking a little finesse. Still, a very well done beer. Full of character that stops just short of going straight over the edge.

Labeled as a pale but it looks more like an amber. Hops up front and as the brewer says "assertive hop finish" and not balanced with natural sweetness. Low carbonation, not much of a head. The ABV is 6.2%.

This is an APA with muscles. Strong piney, resiney hop aroma, flavors. Any kind of malt flavors are there just as a supporting role and are quickly overshadowed by the main act, hops. A very enjoyable beer.

Light copper hue w/ good clarity. A few yeast aggregates in suspension. The well - retained head leaves a rough lace. Citrusy, pleasantly piney hop nose. The volatile hop oils evaporate quickly then a slight hint of fruity esters emerges along w/ biscuit malt flavors. Smooth mouthfeel w/ a firm malt body. Hop bitterness is quite assertive for style and quite enjoyable. Malt notes are light and are comprised mostly of bready malt flavors-- caramel malt sweetness is masked by the high hop bitterness. Hop flavor is of course citrusy from the Cascade and Centennial, but woody notes from the Northern Brewer add complexity. The finishes is of lingering bitterness, and sweetness just on the tip of the tongue. Harvest Pale Ale is an enjoyable APA, w/ superlative hopping. With more malt complexity this would be outstanding.
