First of all, I was able to get a fresh glass of Black Butte so that was a very good start. I decided to wear my cheesehead into the pub since it worked so well in North Carolina for meeting people here. No dice here, either people are depressed or pretty much indifferent about anything. I was told the latter to be true, since people in here and in Portland have probably seen just about anything. I did a flight and as always their beers were very good. Place was packed that night, and people pretty much kept to their groups. Service was very good and if I ever am in Bend again, I probably would stop.

Located in downtown Bend. Short bar plus wide expanse of tables. Street parking plus adjoining off street lot. Good tap selection, with sixteen or so taps. Tile floors and varrow plank wood ceiling, with exposed brick walls. Full food menu. Liquor and wine. Friendly and helpful staff. TVs showing sports. One of many good craft beer drinking spots in Bend.

Rustic downtown brewpub a few blocks from the namesake river. Long straight bar perpendicular to the entrance on the right seats about 18 with plenty a tables about the room. 20 plus beers on tap. Friendly bartender. I got there when they opened a there was a line of people wanting to get in. Seems like a popular lunch spot.

The flagship tap house for this esteemed North West institution. A good brick brass and wood decor set up, with an upstairs area. Plenty of bar and table area. The service is good and so is the beer. Didn't try any food.

Terrible. Noisy crowded alcoholic crowd. Ugly waiters and people with tattoos and piercings-ugh.
Yuck. Bathrooms filthy and male restroom had semen from gay sex all over the walls.

A large space, well designed, family friendly. Tap list was diverse, nothing too surprising. Staff was friendly and efficient and beer-savvy. Food menu was pub grub & more. Plentiful portions. Elk burger recommended.

A moderately long, old-school wooden bar sits adjacent to an Applebee's-like restaurant space. However, the interior is apparently much larger than it looks from the outside, and it seems like there were more tap stations in the place than the two long ones that I saw, as a rack of clean glasses from our bar were being brought elsewhere. Either way, there are tons of beers on tap, far more than the two of us could try in one evening.

The classics that you can find countrywide are obviously available, and it's nice to try them fresher than you may be used to, but the unique on-site only offerings are obviously where it's at. Not only did they have some rarer stuff you don't normally see, like a few years of Dissident, but it was fresh hop season and there were a couple of beers available in that respect, and they were not all IPAs either. Everything was good, to better than good, but nothing was out of the realm of expectation.

Food is also leaning in a family restaurant direction, but does feature some nice, creative and/or healthy options. The white bean chili soup and hummus with artichoke and large, softened carrots were certainly worthwhile, and the pita either seemed authentic or was definitely well-sourced. The menu is pretty large with plenty of options either way.

Large, loud but with sufficient space to handle a very large crowd. Good selection of beers including a few available no where else. I did not try the food.

When you go into the heart of Bend this place exists and always seems super popular.

Nice selection of draft only stuff, lots of wooden decor. Some televisions. Views of downtown. Not huge. Nice and intimate. Good quality, wide range of beer styles. The only real downside is how popular the place is. Good mix of about a dozen of the bottled beers, and 4-5 brewery only choices.

This place is simply a paradise. Mountain ski town, outdoorsy vibe. A massive assortment of all their beers, including two casks on at all times. The food was insanely good, bordering on gourmet, but good pricing. The tilamook cheese sauces were incredible. A good selection of hard to find bottle selections( I picked up the dissident). Staff was fast and friendly. Everything was faster and better than I was expecting.

Great brew pub, wide selection of house on draft and bottled beers. Food is high quality, with something for everyone. Varying decor from bourbon barrels to hanging beer art to brew materials. Cool spot.
