This brewpub is easy to find in downtown Bend. It was within walking distance of my motel. It's a big place, well-lighted and non-smoking throughout! There are TVs all around and lots of brewania on the walls. It wasn't very crowded on a Tuesday night in early October, but the sound system was a bit too loud for normal conversation.

They have the complete selection of Deschutes brews, of course, including ones that are probably only available here. I had several different brews. They were all average to above average. The true standouts are Black Butte Porter and their Obsidian Stout, which was available cask-conditioned on a nitro tap.

I had the hazlenut-encrusted salmon, which was good, though not great. Their beers are the reason to visit.

If you're in Bend, make sure you swing by this place.

Food is always very good. Personal favorites include the pretzel appetizer and the mac and cheese entree.

Beer is excellent. The large beer menu offers Deschutes regular and seasonal favorites, but I always order a flight of the brewpub exclusives. These consist of beers only available at this location, and there are always some very good beers in the flight. Brewpub exclusive bottles can be purchased, as well.

Service is very good.

I visit this spot every time I'm in Bend, and I will continue to do so. Would recommend.

This was stop #26 for my wife and I on a 21-day pub-crawl from Michigan to N. CA and OR. We stopped here on a Monday afternoon to enjoy their beers and to have lunch. The pub is located in a downtown storefront-like setting among other commercial businesses. The interior is setting is two different arrangements depending on whether you sit in the front are or in the bar area. (I think there is also a large dining area off to the side too.) To us, the bar area is more fitting of a pub vibe, but where we were seated was okay too.

We ordered a sampler flight of 6 (our choice here) of the 17 beers that were available, and only one of them was a repeat (intentional) of the beers that we had at the Portland pub location. (Fresh Squeezed IPA was the repeat beer, and it did not impress me at either location, at least it didn’t live up to the amount of hype that I’ve read. However, it is a good IPA.) All of the beers were very well brewed to style or better, and we felt that the Not the Stoic Belgian-style Quad was exceptional. Our food selections were also very good.

We enjoyed this pub more than the Portland location because it was smaller with less hustle and bustle, and less noisy. The beers at each location rated out with identical scores under our rating system. This is a great pub and is highly recommended.

Excellent food, properly cooked, big portions. Incredibly friendly staff. Had my nephew with and he was being a five year old. He didn't like his Mac and cheese and the staff was more than happy to replace his food with something else at no extra charge. The atmosphere was that of any pub.
