Poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a medium brown color, with a large dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains wheat, bananas, caramelized malts and some hops.
T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of wheat and a hearty malt character. Then some mildly sweet flavors of caramel, bananas and chocolate come in. The hops presence is mild but very complementary creating a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, very good representation of style, this is a nice beer to drink for a long time if you’re in the mood for the style.

500mL into a weizen glass. Pours a clear cola brown w/ a nice creamy mocha head, good carbonation.
Aroma is mellow banana and clove, some other spices.
Taste is overripe (brown) banana and winter spices. Clean and crisp, just a hint of grain. Good clean water.
Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, really nicely balanced.
Overall, yes. This is a very nice beer. Simple and elegant.

1pt 0.9 fl oz amber bottle
A: Dark coffee like color with a creamy light brown foamy head.
S: Sweet Caramel and high alcohol
T: "Root beer" mildly spicy
M: A bit carbonated, nice after taste
O: Nice beer, i enjoyed the taste, will definitely recommend.
Notes : First Dunkelweizen I ever try.

Pours a cloudy dark chestnut brown color with dark amber edges and a two finger, frothy off-white head that very slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Very good retention, taking a while to settle and leaving sporadic streaks of soapy lacing behind.
Inviting aroma with a nice balance of zesty spice, bready yeast, light fruit, citrus and slightly roasted malt. Very peppery with a strong clove presence followed by sourdough bread, banana and bubblegum. There's also a decent amount of citrus peel but it's somewhat overshadowed by the darker malt bill. Subtle roast with sweeter caramel, toffee, hazelnut and biscuit character. Nice complexity in the nose with a decent roasted malt presence that's well integrated into the weisse bier elements.
Medium body with soft carbonation and a strong peppery spice presence up front that lingers over the yeast, citrus and sweeter malt notes into a spritzy, tart finish. Hints of black pepper and clove dominate at first but are soon countered by some sourdough bread and banana before some citric acidity kicks in on the back end. The malt presence isn't as prominent as in the nose but it's still evident with subtle roast and hints of toasted malt, hazelnut, caramel and toffee. Decent amount of sweetness without taking away from the classic wheat beer flavors. Slightly tart lemon juice/pith flavor toward the back of the palate. Crisp and refreshing and while it's heavier than an average weissebier, it's still pretty easy to drink.

It has been a long time since I have had a Dunkelweizen. I remember the style well and I am happy to see a new example of the style on the shelves of MA by a respected brewery like Andechs.
A- Poured from the 500ml bottle to two pint glasses with a almost crimson dark red body that only allows a small amount of light to pierce the edges. A foamy, white head forms on the beer to about two fingers. The cap lowers to a thick ring and a pillow remains over the whole top. Sticky sheets of lace coat a small portion of the glass.
S- Not the most pungent of aromas but what is there is intriguing and delicately balanced. Yeast produced esters and phenolics bring a nice blend of banana, apple, pear and clove hints. Toasted, caramel and wheat malt aromatics.
T- Malt and yeast influence of the aroma carries over nicely but one big change I notice is the appearance of a Candi-sugar-esque caramelized sugar feel. Fairly sweet overall but nicely done with the malt and fruit flavors present. Base of caramel, wheat crust, banana, pear, clove, general yeast spice and slight toasted grains.
MF- Light-medium bodied thickness with a slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is at a moderately low level but very silky (that wheat fluff) on the palate. Minimal bitterness as that caramelized sugar sweetness lingers.
Spicy, malty, fruity and sweet. The carbonation was just a bit low for my liking but it didn't detract enough from the delicate balance of flavor for me to deduct too much. Between Ayinger, Weihen and now Andechs, it seems like those 500ml German bottles are always a hit.

Deep chestnut brown with a reddish hue and a one inch beige/brown cap of fine bubbles. Decent head retention, some lacing. Aromas of malt and bread, banana and caramel, hint of cloves. Low to moderate bitterness with malt and toffee sweetness, light banana and clove character, a bit bready. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, a bit dry on the palate. Pretty good overall.
