In downtown Buffalo sits Ya Ya Bayou Brewhouse. An upstate New York Restaraunt with a strong cajon twist.
The menu is classic New Orlean with everything from Gumbo to oyster loaf. I enjoyed an enormous bowl of Jambalya. Spicy and very tasty. What else was cool is you can order a sampler. This is six beer served in small sample glasses. A great way to wait for your meal. The Bourbon Street Brown goes really good with just about anything they have. Just beware, they are not open for lunch, so plan to make it for dinner.

Please go here (no commercial interest)! How could a place so close to hopping Chippewa St. be so empty? Failed as two other brewpubs and now doing the Cajun thing. While I've never been to NO, the food is delicious, comes in big portions and is reasonably priced considering the quality. The house beers are made by the likes of Elicottville, Custom Brewcrafters and Flying Bison and they have some other guest beers (on my last visit I had a stout from Anderson Valley and there was a German weizen on tap). Even some decent wines by the glass. A good choice for the beer lover looking for something to eat downtown.
