Sampled a few of these on a recent visit to the pub. Arrives in a snifter as a 12 oz pour. Rich clear mahogany color with minimal head. Aroma is dark malt and caramel with a bit of brown sugar. Maybe some faint earthy hops in the background.
First sip reveals a syrupy and sticky textured beer with mild faint carbonation. Flavor is all malt with similar notes as the nose advertised at the beginning of the sampling.
Not super complex with caramel and toffee and some richer deeper malts no hint of ABV anywhere. The beer is enjoyable and sneaky strong. I think the seasonals at SBC are getting more and more interesting. THis is worth a shot and maybe a growler fill on my next visit.
