A - Golden amber in colour, beneath a small but dense white head. Streaks of lacing.
S - This is a malt forward lager. Toffee up front with a touch of vanilla bean along with some low profile floral hops.
T - Caramel and toffee again. Quite sweet and very drinkable.
M - Medium bodied, crisp and refreshing. Quite dry.
O - Nice. Id happily go for another one.

Incidentally I think I was potentially the first person ever to order this beer, unless someone snuck in ahead of me in St Kilda.
Pours a darkish pine colour with big bubbles in the body. Head is nice and dense, retaining a thin crown and beautiful sticky lacing. Clear body; looks pretty damn fine.
Smells grainy mostly, a bit of dark honey with rye-grain bread. Mildly phenolic but yeah, not a huge aroma really, and definitely lacking in the ostensible oak.
Taste is a similar affair; lots of grain on there, mildly sweet with fresh baked bread, some notes of honey and wheat as well. Finish is fairly crisp and lagery, but not a huge amount of that roasted oak I was promised and was looking forward to. Just a touch of wood in the mid that doesn't quite last, but finishes quite decently with a fair clean bitterness and maybe a mild roast note. Not bad, but I expected more.
Full body, quite sticky really. Not too dry and goes down smoothly.
A good start to GABS, not amazing though.

On-tap at the Local Taphouse for their Australian SpecTapular.
Pours a pleasant amber orange colour, quite clear in the body. Head is pleasantly thick and white, and very fine-bubbled. Lots of rather large-bubbled carbonation. Lacing is good. Texture looks a little thin.
Nose is thin an grainy, with a wallop of crystal malt the main attraction. A slight lilt of noble hops, but very weak.
Taste has a light keller astringency to it, giving that slightly phenolic bite on the back. Otherwise, grains are most noticeable, giving a husky note with hints of rounded oak to deepen the palate. After a while, the oak starts to dominate a little too much, overpowering what is quite a delicate style.
Feel is sharp and plasticky.
Not a bad drop, and a very interesting experiment. It's a refreshing way to start the day.
