Notes/Commercial Description:
Wave the Wheat Ale is a uniquely refreshing wheat ale made from Kansas grown malted wheat and German grown Munich malt. The sweet wheat malt flavors and the unfiltered flavor of yeast esters are accompanied by just a touch of Hallertaur and Willamette hops.

A: Pours a light golden color with a small, .5 inch head that dissipates quickly leaving no lacing.

S: Not much going on here other than a mild breadiness

T: Pretty light wheat beer. The flavor is predominantly a mild yeast with a bit of sweet malt and no hops. Nothing really jumps out at me.

M: Light-bodied with slightly above-average carbonation

D: Very drinkable. If you are in the mood for a lighter beer, this is the way to go.

On tap at the brewpub in August 2009.

Pours a bright clear golden color with a white head and a touch of lacing as it comes down. Smell is pretty much straight grain with a touch of sweetness. No real fruit esters or anything else of the sort. Taste is quite similar. Just a dry, semi-sweet graininess. Nothing terribly offensive and nothing off-putting, but not much to say about it. Mouthfeel is light with good carbonation. Goes down smoothly, but there's no real reason to go for the next sip.

Poured into a ten ounce tasting glass at the brew-pub.

Pours a delicious golden haze, with a large white head that lasts a good amount. Leaves medium lacing down the glass.

The nose is filled with sweet, creamy wheat malt and moderate hops. Lots of crusty wheat bread.

The taste is a complete let down. Served far too cold, you're left with nothing but oxidized beer - even on tap - that makes this taste like bud light. As it warmed, you could tell this otherwise is a fairly creamy, fairly sweet wheat beer. It's not bad, until you realize it's oxidized and tastes like a macro lager.

Seriously, 23rd, step up your game. You've got some quality brews, but problems like this are rampant and prevent you from even touching the gorilla across town. I suppose you can't expect quality when this place focuses on big boobed bimbos serving up mediocre food.

A - Poured a cloudy, golden-yellow color with thin, small, white head. It left no lace.

S - It smelled of wheat, yeast and some citrus.

T - It taste of wheat and some biscuity malt. There was a little fruity flavor.

M - It was crisp and very sharp. A light bodied wheat ale.

D - This is an okay wheat beer. It was easy drinking and very sessionable.

Pours a hazy pale yellow/golden color with a thin white head. Poor retention and no lacing.

The aroma is nearly nonexistant. Some sweet pale wheat is available though, and appears kind of bready.

The taste is relatively weak. Grainy, pale wheat, bready, slightly tangy with some citrus like acidity.

Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with low carbonation.

Drinkability is moderate. It's a decent beer, but not the best wheat I've had.
