Had this at Hops in Huntersville, NC. We got fed up with Brixx. I knew they had the standard beers they brew, but hoped for a good summer seasonal. Not too shabby. It came in a 20 oz. glass. Not much head, with a golden/yellow color. Smelled like orange flowers. Had a nice wheat taste, with a good orange after taste. I asked when they had brewed this, she said it was less than a month old. Had a somewhat watery mouthfeel, but I had no problem drinking another. For Hops, this was a decent beer. Considering how much I'm enjoying wheat beers this summer, I would suggest this one be given a try.

Had at the Newington, CT Location

L: Pours a golden yellow color with a medium sized and medium bodied head that laces the glass a little on the way down.
S: Smells of sweet wheat malt, lightly toasted malts, and a hint of citrusy hops at the end.
T: Follows the nose with sweet wheat malts, lighter toasted malts, a hint of honey and citrusy hops at the end. I was expecting more of a honey flavor as it is slightly there.
M: Very crisp, fresh, refreshing, and the perfect amount of carbonation.
D: Very drinkable.

Hadn't been in a Hops Grill & Brewpub in over 2 years, but that's where everyone wanted to go for lunch. The beers are generally decent, nothing great (yet), so I thought to try a seasonal brew. Everyone was wearing the Hang Ten Honey Wheat t-shirt so I went with it.

Appearance: It came in a standard pint glass, not a good sign. A pale yellowish-gold color with little head that seemed to have been allowed to flow down the sides if the puddle that formed on the table was any indication.
Smell: A slight sweetness and some hops, no fruit/citrus at all.
Taste: Quite hoppy for a wheat, more like a pale lager, no sweetness or citrus or anything else.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied, astringent, a lot of effervescence/carbonation all over the mouth.
Drinkability: Well, if you wanted a lager, then you had a decent beer here. But this was supposed to be a wheat and it isn't. Alcohol is low, in fact not even noticed, so you could imbibe quite a few easily and it would be fine on a warm summer day - like today - but it misses the style by a mile. Glad it's seasonal, maybe the fall brew will be better.
