I bought this beer in Straßburg during a visit in 2007. We just stumbled upon a beer shop in the historic city centre and some very surprising bottles.
It says on the bottle that its brewed with sea water. On the website they mention that all their products contain sea salt.
This beer was brewed to promote the tour of a Breton "Celtic rock opera" called Excalibur.
Best before: July 2009, sampled on 08 September 2010
Appearance: This beer has a strange colour. It reminds me of a Hefe Weizen, but its more orange in colour. The head vanished immediately.
Nose: The scent is very sweet, full of fruit, honey and flower blossoms.
Taste: The sea salt is clearly present. It gives the beer a more wider pallet. Some malt is active, but it is covered by honey sweetness and a herbal (flower-like) freshness.
Mouthfeel: The sensation is very thick and full. It reminds me of yeast and starch..
Drinkability: This sure is a special brew. Not only is the taste a personal new, a takes some getting used to. Personally, I would have a few more, but I wouldn't know who to share it with.
