Presentation: 355ml (12 fl.oz) clear glass bottle. I picked up this single from the Trader Joes broken Six-Pack section. The neck label has the words Rio Clara, whilst the main label comprises a white, red and dark blue affair that states Rio Clara Premium lager Imported Beer. Cost just $0.67 for the single sampler, so I figured it was worth a try.
Appearance: Extremely pale golden body, perfectly lucid with a thin broken froth like head. Light lacing.
Nose: Light citrus nose mixed with hops and mild grain malt.
Taste: Crisp and refreshing, light body with a citric layer that mixes with an extremely feint bitterness. Finishes with a very dry, citric aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Average, with a lively feel on the tongue mainly due to the carbonation.
Drinkability: Average, its greatest assets are its low offense tastes and high drinkability levels, as well as the fact that it is easily consumed in the warmer weather. Oh and the fact that no lemon slice is needed.
Overall: Best summed up as El Salvadorian Sol.

Appearance is a light golden straw with minimal head that fizzes out quickly. Smell is light in malt and grain, with a minimal skunk. Taste is slightly sweet, grainy, hops with a sour note. Mouthfeel is light and crisp with the carbonation.
It's your typical light lager not good, not bad, but hey for $4.99 a sixer, I'll give it a try.

Nice packageing plain and simple Blue, white and gold label. 12 oz bottle. Usual cheap lager yellow colour with next to zero head, some insipid lace. Aroma is very grassy and some skunk, I dunno though its not as bad as many I have had. Taste is bitter , with weak malts and some sweetness at the end. Actually not that bad on the palate, it does for some reason appear to have some heft and seems less watery than many in this category. Overall not a good beer at all, but compared to other Latin American cheap lagers its not bad. I could drink this at a party if I had to.

A: crystal clear yellow topped with a one bubble layer of fizz
S: very generic pale lager scent, with a definite "stinky" note, sulphur? skunk?
T: weak, with an offensive sulphur undercurrent that is similar to corona's but not as charming
M: fizzy, with a bite, watery
D: I did not pour this down the drain, but you can spend much less on a yellow fizz beer

I'm pretty certain this is my first beer from El Salvador. I grabbed up a bottle of Rio Claro to flesh out a mixed 6-er at my local Trader Joe's. At under seventy cents, I figured why not try yet another lager from a Central American nation.
Poured from a clear 12oz. bottle (clear bottles, in a near-tropical country loaded with sunlight!?), this light lager showed off a clear yellow hue and a large fizzy white head that burped and churned away thanks to the huge volume of large bubbles launching for the surface. Carbonation? Just a bit. Lace? Nada. Think ginger ale and you'll get the picture.
A sniff or two had me perplexed, then kind of repulsed. The nose had an aroma best described as the smell of a wet rubberized track being hit by a hot sun. I guess hot, wet rubber and a hint of chemicals would describe it best. Thankfully, the awfulness of the nose didn't translate into the taste. Light, watery, and limpid, there was a grassy flavor akin to straw up front and then...nothing. This beer hit mid-palate and turned to water. No hops evident anywhere.
Strangely enough, this turned out to be fairly drinkable. Yes, the nose was rank, but the taste was relatively benign. I can see where this brew might work well in a perpetually hot area of the planet like El Salvador. Give it a try if you have seventy cents to part with.

Appearance Clear yellow with a small head that didnt last.
Smell Typical grain with a little skunk and a whiff of sweetness.
Taste A little drier than your average cervesa. You can really taste it on the back of the tongue. It definitely tastes better than it smells. The grain comes up lighter than expected, but theres a sweet flavor, almost like melon, that comes in at the end with a dash of bitters.
Mouthfeel Some liveliness in the mouth, and the dry taste feels good on a hot day.
Drinkability This went down smoother than expected. Not bad.
