A yellow, clear beer with a white foamy head with porr retention and no lacing. Malty sweet aroma and a very familiar taste of nothing but sweetness with the slightest touch of hops. Very high carbonation.

Well, if you're a Coors light drinker and decide to be a little saucy and buy somethin imported then here's your beer. It tastes exactly the same, like a soda if it were made with malts instead of HFCS.

From a 12 oz. single bottle at Trader Joe's, this brew pours a light to medium straw in color and offers a rather robust and lingering head of white foam. Settles in the end to a light cap.

Offers a neutral smell with no distractions, though a bit steely perhaps. OK, I sense a bit of rice in the hood.

Taste follows and offers just a hint of sweetness. Neither corn nor rice, just a light barley malt flavor. Slightly sweet on the finish.

Overall a decent and inconspicuous lager, offering some noble hops and surely a bit of controversy. But then controversy is my friend....

I picked up this beer at TJ's about a year ago but I forgot how awful it was until my friend brought a six pack over.

Appearance, pale and yellow in color, very little head when poured.

Smell --metallic sweet and skunky.

Taste-- watery, shallow and repulsive, even adding lime to this one didnt do to much.

Mouthfeel- Thin and fizzy

Drinkability-- I wouldnt consider this beer drinkable, It goes down okay at first but as you get to the second half it becomes unbearable. I put one down and felt sick for the rest of the night and regret not pouring it out.

A- Pours a translucent yellow color. White fizzy head that is far from impressive follows. If I didn't know better i would say it was ginger ale.

S- Smell is sweet, slightly malty with a metallic twang. Reminds me of a corona.

T- Shallow, big brewery feel. No distinct flavors pop out, tastes watery.

M- Mouthfeel is thin and fizzy.

D- This beer lacks flavor and is not interesting whatsoever but with that said, this would be an easy session beer for a hot day.

Goes well with Mexican food if you're trying to kill the spicy flavor with an unpleasant tasting beverage!

A - Probably the best part of this one. Pale yellow body with a strong white foamy head.
S - Light corn scent. Not completely off-putting, but close.
T - Corn extract malt. Other than that, it's a very unimposing taste. I guess you could say it's smooth cuz of that.
M - Very light.
D - Doesn't taste very good, but since the flavor is fairly light I was able to get this 12oz bottle down without throwing any of it away.

This was my masochistic purchase at Trader Joe's. A light lager from the makers of Cantina. What's wrong with me?

This isn't so hideous after all.

Appearance: The pour is straw colored with a wimpy white head.

Smell: The nose is grassy and grainy with a hint of adjunct and surprisingly no skunking.

Taste: Grains, faint grassy hop flavor, and just the slightest, barely offensive, note of adjuncts.

Mouthfeel: It's not as thin as I would've expected and there's good carbonation.

Drinkability: This is a quaffable alternative to Corona and company, but I wouldn't get another bottle for myself, let alone an entire six-pack.

A six-pack of South of the Border (way south - as in El Salvador) lager for less than $4 at Trader Joe's? How good could this possibly be?

Pours a very clear light yellow with thin, short lived bubbly head. Little or no lacing. Smells like a macro lager - a bit of grass, no off scents, no skunkiness.

Mouthfeel is watery and thin. Taste starts a bit sweet - high levels of seltzery carbonation give way to to slightest hop bitterness which fades quickly and finishes dry, with a slightly metallic, but not offensive, aftertaste. Flavor really is enhanced (at least made more interesting) by a wedge of lime.

With a lime, nearly indistinguishable from Corona Extra. Very drinkable and refreshing. Would go great with spicy comfort food.

Surprisingly, not a bad beer. This is certainly no high class complex ale, but it knows what it wants to be and does it well. Clean and refreshing with no off flavors. Quite a bargain, too!

By the way...Corona always gives me a raging headache, but I felt great after downing a few of these.

12oz clear bottle with a painted label. Pours into my glass an extremely light pale yellow with a small head of soda pop-like carbonation. Not exactly appealing in the glass. Color is lighter than most domestic light beers. Aroma is strong skunk/brickweed before I even get the glass to my nose. Underneath is a sweet cereal grain / cooked vegetal aroma. Light citrus is in there as well...just a bit too skunky overall.

First sip brings a shallow sweet cereal grain maltiness along with some light citric tones. There's a bit of herbal hops in there as well along with some skunkiness, but much less than I expected from the aroma. Finishes clean with no real aftertaste. A quenching standard lager from El Salvador.

Mouthfeel has plentiful carbonation and is somewhat creamy, it actually has a nice body to it as well. Drinkability would be good on a hot day if this was your thing. Ends up being nice and refreshing. Not something I'd seek out to drink personally, but it's good for what it is. Pick up a single at Trader Joe's and try it for yourself.

Surprise. This really isn't that bad a beer...as Macro American Lagers go. It reminds me a lot of Corona but seems to have a bit more of a chemical or metalic aftertaste to it than the Corona Extras do.
Aroma is slightly sweet hops...
Lots of carbonation gives the tongue a nice tingling which is good because you couldn't rely on the ABV content to do that with this beer.
Taste is bright...light....watery hops. Definately improved upon with the addition of a wedge of lime. Covers the metalic edge this beer has. The off taste may be from sunlight exposure through their clear bottles.

(Served in an American pint glass)
Trader Jo's clams this is exclusively at TJs

A- This beer pours a straw yellow crystal clear body that has a slow carbonation. The head is a thin white film that turns to small isolated clouds floating on top.

S- This beer has a light pale malt aroma with a faint hint of noble hops. There is a slight sweetness to the malt aroma.

T- This beer has a big carbonic acid flavor that covers over the pale malt flavor and cuts right to the light hop bitterness. No a big flavorful beer but very smooth and nothing offensive. The finish is a good sulfur crisp flavor.

M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a fizz in the texture. No alcohol warmth or astringency.

D- This beer is light and smooth with nothing really exciting. It has good crisp malt and soft lager qualities. Just not very interesting or dynamic.

This is by no means a bad beer but it isn't one that I'd opt for if other choices are there. Out of the bottle, it has a light yellow color and this color, the name, and the smell all reminded me of many Latin American beers. Lime is definitely benificial to this brew.

It is a smooth tasting beer, a bit fruity and light. Not much body or bite. If you want to put away a lot of them, it would be easy. At least it is more enjoyable than some other light beers that have even less body.

I wouldn't choose to have too many. Not much satisfaction for all those trips to the bathroom that would be inevitable.

Poured from a clear glass bottle with a painted on white black and blue label.

Pours a clear light gold color with lively carbonation.

Smell is heavy grains and a grassy hop smell. No skunking present.

Taste is a little sweet with lots of grain flavor, similar to a German Lager. Hops are understated. No off flavors.

Mouthfeel is good.

Drinkable, nothing great or bad about this brew. A simple competent Lager.
