From the makers of Santiago, let's welcome Cabaña to the dance floor:
The best thing to say about this brew is that it looks somewhat appetizing; pale yellow in color with a decent head. Faint lemon soda like scent is in the aroma. The flavor isn't "bad", there's just little of it. Again, more faint lemon flavor, then it turns into nothing. A very light bitternes pulls out as the beer sits on the tongue. Feels mushy and bubbly. This was no fun, and now I'm going to clean my sink with it. I can't imagine how much worse it could be if it were skunked.

This is just a horrible beer. I recieved this in a sampler pack and this is definantly the last one of these I will ever have. It pours like a typical straw colored pilsener, but right off the bat I was thrown back by a horrible smell that reaked of dirty socks and high school locker rooms. The mouthfeel is over carbonated and the taste reminds me of rotten fish. This has got to be one of the worst beers ever.

Clear glass 355mL bottle. I'm really only reviewing this because it's my first beer from El Salvador! I am reading the article on El Salvador on Wikipedia at the same time, for added authenticity. Dios, Unión, Libertad!
Appearance: Very pale yellow liquid with zero head retention and lacing, and a few coarse bubbles all coming off the bottom of the glass at once. I am serving this beer cold, rather than cool, and it's a chilly autumn night here in Canberra. The only thing kind of like a head is this whitish scum on the top of the water. Ok, it's fine bubbles, not something gross, but still I'm not giving this a good mark for appearance. The bottle is kind of attractive, what with the blue and red. Still not too good though.
Smell: Not too foul, and fairly pleasant considering that it's served at about 3-4 degrees. Nice hoppy aroma, nothing too complex, but for an easy-drinking beer designed to be served cold, it's not too bad at all. Aromatic, maybe a bit grassy, but surprisingly no skunkiness (not obvious at this temperature anyway) despite the clear glass bottle. Maybe the carbonation is so low that the nasty aromas aren't getting to my nose in high enough concentrations to really make the beer smell bad. But I've definitely smelt worse macro lagers.
Taste: The sourness is starting to hit the sides of my tongue. There is a lemon bitterness which is actually quite refreshing, but coupled with the light malty flavours, it's almost curdling. But these are minor complaints. It's so cold that it's hardly worth mentioning. There's not much taste, and nothing too offensive. Pretty average FOR THE STYLE, but not good for an average beer, by any means.
Mouthfeel: Predictably thin but fairly easy drinking.
Drinkability: The maltiness is building up in my stomach, making me fuller than it should for a beer as thin as this. Overall this beer is inoffensive, and if it's cheap and there's nothing else to drink in Chalatenango (or whatever region of El Salv or the world you happen to be in) then it's better than nothing.

This is just another golden "island lager" with a painted label on a clear bottle. It's skunked in the nose; and offers the same basic, adjunt-lager flavor that all of the others do (Corona, Sol, Carib). There's a little bit more yeasty fruitiness to it, and the hops are a shade more spicy, but it's basically the same. Average. Drink only when necessary. Good for cooking crabs. Oh, and if you are going to drink it, go ahead and add the lime - can't hurt!

poured a light straw yellow with a fizzy white head, lots of carbonation bubbles runnung through it.
Smell had a sweet sickly corn syrupy odor.
Has a light sweet corny flavor with no hint of hops.
Mothfeel is very watery.
Not good, will avoid this one.

Another weak showing from this brewery. I tried this out as a candidate for "boating on the lake beer" - never too soon to start planning for summer. It did not come close to making the cut. Clear bottle - always a bad idea. Aroma was moderately skunky, and the skunkyness was carried into the flavor. Otherwise, the only noteworthy flavor was a grassy sweetness. No hops of any appreciable amount. Oddly, this did not strike me as being in the Corona/Tecate league. Rather, the flavor profile was more like a watered-down, insipid Heineken-ultra. Blah.

The beer pours as clear as you can get, bright gold with a smallish white creamy head that vanishes quite quickly, the lace a sheet that breaks up as fast as the head faded. Nose basically malt, clean, start has a light grain presence, sweet with the top cadaverous. Finish is modest in its acidity, hops extremely mild, sweet and very dry aftertaste, brewed for the environment, and I have certainly consumed worse.

Not a bad looking beer, as it poured from the bottle to a golden color, with some white head, but no lacing. Little aroma, and but I actually cheated on the taste, by adding lime juice and salt. With that, it was actually not too bad of a drink on a hot summer afternoon, but hardly a quality beer.

The beer pours a pale yellow color with a thick frothy white head that quickly fades to lacing. The aroma is average. It has a light pale malt scent with a dry lager yeast aroma. It has that clear bottle smell that is consistant with most Latin American macro lagers. The taste is sub-par. It has a grainy pale malt flavor with a really dry yeast finish. It is slightly bitter, but mostly musty with little malt character. The mouthfeel is sub-par also. It is a low bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a forgettable beer for sure. This makes Corona look like a really kick ass craft brew. It's one and done for me.

Sampled at local beer store Thursday night tasting. Poured a clear yellow color with appropriate white puffy head. Smell is slightly sweet. Taste is not remarkable, but has more flavor than most beers of this type. Finishes with not much to offer except wetness. Seems like a beer trying to compete with Corona but at a lesser price.

One of the clearer beers I've seen in my days, very light yellow gold color body and a relatively long-lasting white foam top. Nose is creamy and dusty, which I like.
Taste is much better than I expected. More grain character than alot of the light lagers I've had with a nice sweet wheat/rice taste. Nothing too off in this smooth, over-carbonated brew.
Not good by any means, but exceeds low expectations. And $6.99 for a 12 pack at BevMo was/is always the right price.

Pours very light, pale yellow. Head is slight and dissipates to a thin soapy sheen almost immediately.
Aroma is dominated by dry pale malt. A hint of grassy hop, and quite sweet in general.
Taste is similar to the nose. Pale malt, with light hops. Hints of lemon. Finish should be crisp, but there is an off flavor that just doesn't work.
Mouthfeel is light and thin.
Would be a decent offering if you are stuck in the El Salvador jungle. There are too many good beers to bother with this one.

A better than expected drink
Darkish yellow in colour it impresses the nose and the palate by not being offensive.
It is balanced and even havinga pleasnt maltiness dominating the taste.
Somewhat thin in the mouth , it is drinkable , certainly not exciting but a better drink than the regulars from this part of the world

From a clear attractively screen printed bottle with no freshness date, into my Sam Adams glass (thanks, guys!). Clear pale golden color with a thin trickle of carbonation. Thin white spit head fades quicker than a Mexican sunset leaving a thin cap and a substantial ring. Nose of citrus and grainy adjunct; pretty typical of a Mexi-lager. Taste is more of the same, a kind of corn adjunct with some sweet, edging-toward-cloying malt. Semi-dry end evinces little to no hops. Mouth is nice and wet with a low carbonation profile. Drinkability is decent considering this is just hot-day lawnmowing swill.
Overall: Yet another in the endless parade of pale yellow, slightly fizzy Mexi-lagers. Take a pass on this one.
