Appearance: Golden yellow, poured with about three fingers of dense white foam. Retention was excellent, left lots of lacing. Lots of bubbles.

Smell: Just the faintest whiff of sweetness as soon as I opened the can.

Taste: Definitely can taste the corn adjunct. A little bitterness. Similar to most mass-market AALs.

Mouthfeel: A bit light in body. Some metallic twang in the aftertaste. Enough carbonation.

Overall: Aside from the look in the glass, this doesn't stand out in the world of BMC clones. Not terrible, but not worth having again.

A: Amazing lace and a good head. clear, dull gold, slightly fizzy.

S: Not much of a smell, but it is a nice mild, buttery kind of smell.

T: Excellent caramel taste. Smooth, buttery, nice.

M: Smooth. Easy on the mouth, but not much flavor.

D: Very easy to drink. Excellent flavor and smoothness.

Good beer. I think that it is the classico, but not 100 percent sure. Red lable with five stars across. Smooth and easy to drink.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a grainy malt with a smattering of floral hops and corn.

The taste was light and grainy with a heavy corn element and some metallic flavors. Corn sweetness at the finish.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness for the style and a bit slick.

Overall a typical macro. Light bodied with some off flavors.

Every country has to have some mass produced lager beers. These are not always that bad and sometimes can be really great for the hot days of summer. Mahou fails to emerge from the crowd of generic and indistinguishable "international lagers". The main complaint is that the beer has a lot of off flavors, skunk and some fermented vegetal flavors. If they had kept this in check in could have survived as "pool beer" for those of less discerning taste.

Not very good I must say.

There's a white head that lasts awhile on a clear gold body. It fits the style and this is the best part I think. The smell is of sourdough bread, musty and tart while the taste has some graininess and reminds me of corn flakes. It tastes off, but I can't pinpoint it other than to recall the mustiness of the aroma. The mouthfeel has the tartness from the smell and is a little crisp with a slight bitterness on the aftertaste. It's not a clean beer and it's not crisp enough to be refreshing... I'm quite disappointed even for an american style adjunct lager.

Thanks to Daniela, my cousin, for bringing this back from Barcelona. Poured into a pilsner glass. Pretty golden yellow color, with tiny bubbles, classic. Crappy head though, fizzed away quickly. Adjuncty, grainy aromas. Malt, not really much else. Smooth sweet malt flavor. Almost biscuity. A bit of apple. Some hop bitterness. For a supposedly normal macro adjunct lager this is damn tasty! One of my favorite macro beers in all of the world. Damn tasty, damn drinkable.

One litre bottle into Guinness pint glass in sea level San Antonio, Ibiza, Spain.

A: Pours a clear yellow. Perhaps urine. Appears undercarbonated. Four finger head of no cream and okay thickness. Surprisingly decent retention. Not appealing, but not awful looking.

Sm: Clean barley. Thank YHWH it doesn't smell malty; this has been a huge problem with Ibiza beers.

T: Clean barley body, with a refreshing slight cream finish. Built to extreme simplicity. A bit watery. It's sort of balanced, but how difficult is it to balance two notes? Not bold, but overall refreshing. More a summer beach beer than anything else.

Mf: Slightly undercarbonated. Very light and smooth. There's not much to say about this beer, as it's rather bland overall.

Dr: This is the cheap one litre bottle swill you get for next to nothing to get smashed on the beach; it's an ideal choice because if sand gets in it, you can toss it to the 'gulls instead of having to finish it, and crack open another without feeling guilty. To this end, it's a success. Is that really what a beer lover wants? Probably not. But to quote Pulp Fiction, you fucking better know better.

Special beer made in madrid; rice, corn malt, and hops; smell like yeast, little a corn starch; taste pure, well ballanced, soft and harmonious; try in a pint glass; low carbonation; average in its ABV, classic spanish lager; try with spanish tapas; snacks too; 85% recommended.

Served from 200 cl bottle in Spain.

A - Dark golden color, exceptionally clear. Head is pure white and thin, quickly fading to almost nothing.

S - Malt is fairly clean and grainy, perhaps Pilsner malt. Hint of corn. No overt hops in the aroma, but there's a whiff of skunked noble hops aroma in the background.

T - Not much flavor to grab on to. Indistinct hops flavor at first, then fading to nothing. No real malt flavor to speak of. After the hops there is an astringent chemical aftertaste at a low intensity. In between the initial hops and the aftertaste is no taste; like water.

M - Light body. Fizzy carbonation. No alcohol heat. Slight hops bitterness.

O - The very definition of watery, "drinkable", generic light lager. The only redeeming value is that I can reuse the 200 cl bottle for a strong homebrew, and it's cheaper to buy it with this beer in it than to buy the bottle from a homebrew supplier!
