I could tell by Ak’s review that I would like this type of place (thx AK), and while on STL Cardinal watch in Orlando, I took our crew by for dinner and drinks.

Great relaxing, quiet place (band was not playing yet) in a casual environment - shorts, tees OK. Place was crowded with both college and us middle-agers. The no smoking here (and in all bar/restaurants) makes for a great ash-free smell evening. Large parking lot in the rear.

Friendly service in a knock-off *Irish* decorated setup in 3 almost separate areas. Plenty of good beers to go with the swill, to which they added a Bud draft.

Nice selection of appetizers (spinach & cheese dip was $6.25) to go with entrees and burgers. My fish & chips ($12) came in a large portion and were very good – but I think the Murphy Irish stouts, 1664 Kronenbourgs, and Boddington Cream Ales (most pints were $4.5) were influencing my assessment.

The reason I put 4 $$$$ is because one time I went there w/ a buddy and we were a tad cash-strapped, so we got ONE pitcher of Yuengling(about 4 pints from their pitchers) and it cost $17! That was a WTF moment. I don't think their beer selection is that bad, but the Redlight Redlight crushes it. I liked to go here once in awhile on a weekday night when there was no band playing and shoot darts or chill at the bar. I would try the food, although I can't speak from experience, because all my buddies would tell me to get something to eat when we went. Oh well.
This would be a better place if it didn't cost so much.

Ah, Fiddler's Green. This has been the default bar in the Winter Park area for any returning young adults who graduated HS within the past ten years. We invariably end up here most any night we go out during the holidays, mostly due to the fact that it is open until 2am. The atmosphere is traditional Irish pub, with quite a large interior and plenty of tables and seating at the bar. Smokers usually spill out into the parking lot (this place was almost unbearable when you could smoke inside). There is also decent live music most nights. The service is fairly good considering the amount of people usually needing drinks. The selection is mostly mainstream american and UK macrobrews, with little of the craft variety. I have heard the food is good, but have never had it.

So, the major Pro's include open late, live music, and if you're from here, you usually see people you know. The major Con is a crappy beer selection. This year, Redlight Redlight down the street surpassed Fiddler's as the top beer bar in the area, but we always head to Fiddler's afterwards since they are open later. I'm sure we will be back next December.

Good food, especially when you consider your in the worst food city in America, Orlando. Wings are decent although they don't coat them with enough sauce. Fish and Chips are very good but for $12 the portion was barely more than 3 glorified Mrs Paul fish sticks. They have live music which is consistantly lousy. Twenty four taps but nothing at all out of the ordinary or decent except Fullers ESB and Old Speckled Hen. At $5.25 a pint, bring a full wallet. Best thing going for it is that it is no smoking and has a good atmosphere. This place would be average in a drinking city but in this cheesy cesspool of a city it is the best and one of the only places to go for a beer. Copper Rocket isn't bad but the smoke is unbearable!!!
