A nice surprise from Bavarian private brewery that owes most of its fame to wheat beers and dark bocks. This tipically Bavarian pils is very clean, crisp, with malty-flowery bouquet. Pale, with creamy head and crystal-clear appearance, t doesn't fall from its big-name counterparts from the same area. Recommended!

Very dry pils. Haven't had one drier here in Germany.

And by the way, pils taste completely different in bottles than they do on tap. Even here, where they aren't skunked.

So do yourself a favor when you get to Germany - try everything, whether you thought they were good in the bottle or not. You'll be surprised.

Looks absolutely stunning in a Bischoff glass. Like an advertisement.

I could drink these all night, if I didn't have anywhere to be in the a.m. Doesn't bloat. The flavor doesn't wear on you.

Good with popcorn or other salty foods. Fish especially.

This is by far my favorite German Pilsner. I eat at specific joints because they have it on tap. It is one of the more hop front pilsners in Germany which is why I gravitate to it. Clean yellow color that looks beautiful in the .33L tall Bischoff Glass! It is way less filling then wheat, dunkles, and alts so it can take you deep into the night. Love Bischoff!

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, straw-colored hue with a slight head, minimal carbonation, and minor lacing...
Smell: Spicy, with hints of lemons and citrus...
Taste: The overall taste strongly complemented the smell, with a lemon zest, pepperish bite, hints of citrus...
Clean, crisp, refreshing... Light-bodied, highly easy to drink...
Good for a hot, Summer day...
Not bad...

Pale golden color, carbonated fizzy head, slighty honey sweet, bready malt nose, not much but some skunk, slighty sweet taste with the malt and lightly hopped flavor.

If you like St. Pauli Girl / Beck then give this one a try.

The 7-pack is a hoot.

Pours slightly hazy yellow gold color with bright white head.

Nose is lemony/hoppy.

Palate is dry, crisp with a very familiar German pils taste - in line with DAB, Beck's, and others but without the skunk.

Very thirst quenching beer. Probably excellent with pizza.

A classic example - clean and crisp. Some soft grape flavors in the malt, moderate sweetness to balance some acidity toward the finish. Nice drinkability and fresh in character. This can hold its own against most commonly available German pils. Not too sure about the bug-eyed multi-colored bird adorning the six-pack carrier - looks like a genetic engineering experiment gone bad.

Poured from a 11.2oz bottle into a pilsner glass.

This pours a very transparent pale yellow colour with a fingers of head that quickly fades to wisps of retention. Lacing is actually quite good for the style. Aroma is lemon, zesty hops, and a bit of skunking. I gave it a bit of time to mellow out before drinking to avoid the skunky edge I got out of the nose. I'm glad I did, because this is quite a good pilsner. Smooth lemony flavors with a peppery noble hop zest. Really hit the spot with my nachos.

The mouthfeel is lightly bodied and highly carbonated. Very refreshing. The drinkability is also quite good, just slightly above average for style though. A surprisingly good pilsner, this one really opened itself up to me as the glass emptied out.

Appears a clear, pale yellow with a thick, 2-finger white head that leaves consistent, splotchy lacing. Well-carbonated.
The smell is lemon, lemon bread.
The taste is slightly bitter at first, very mild, lemon citrus and mild malt flavor.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Carbonation stays good throughout.
Drinkability is high. While it's nothing extra special this is a good beer for a warm, summer day.

Poured a light straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a medium strength spicy noble hop atop a light husky grain.

The taste consisted of an upfront spicy noble hop balanced rather well by a light graininess. Good doughy finish.

The mouthfeel was toward the light side with a vigorous carbonation.

Overall a light bodied pils that gets points for its easy drinkability.

Served on tap at Dunderbaks in Tampa FL. Served in a shaker pint glass, probably would have looked a little more authentic if I had upped for the full liter.

Pours shiny gold, very clear, some white foam. Classic pils look and smell. Subtle hop in the nose. The taste is very clean, very crisp, with the German pils kind of finish you'd expect. Goes down quite smooth.

Very refreshing beer.

exactly what you would expect from a standard german pilsner. nothing unusual. good/medium head, deep pilsner flavor, hoppy. finished a bit rough, but not bad. Falls in a long line of typical german type pilsner beers, good, but not unique in any sence.

A: The beer is relatively clear pale yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a thick collar around the edge, and lacy rings of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of bready malts are present in the nose along with notes of grassy hops.
T: Like the smell, the overall taste is rather malty and has some faint hints of sweetness but for the most part is well balanced by the underlying malts, the latter of which also contribute a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Although this beer came in a green bottle, I couldn’t detect any skunkiness in the smell or taste. It is easy to drink but I didn't find the overall taste to be very interesting.

Been drinking this beer for years; finally time to review it since I haven't seen it in quite some time.

Pours a pale yellow-golden color with white fizzy head. Head dissipates rather quickly.

Aromas of sweet hay, grass, slight cooked vegetable and faint spicy hop. Surprisingly there is no detectable skunk character despite the green bottle. Must have just been taken out of the cardboard case.

Malty flavor, with sweet biscuity character. Slight DMS and very faint buttery diacetyl. Hops are there in spirit, providing a clean bitterness but little aroma or flavor.

Mouthfeel is okay - a bit fizzy and the finish is not as clean as it could be.

An easy-drinking continental pils. Enjoyable, but falls short of perfection.

A - This one is a grayish tinted dull yellow with a small but persistent white cap. Some loose lace is left on the glass, and several minutes later, a thin cap is still present.

S - Smells like it looks...a bit dull. The requisite pils notes are there, but not in abundance. There are hints of fruit, and a musky old-guy cologne smell too. Not bad.

T - A bit more lively here, some cologne like notes of musk and sourness are present, and the saaz hoppy flavors are nice. This is a little bit more dank than other German pilseners, and I'm reminded of Danish lagers like Grolsch.

M - Light bodied, firm, tight, and focused. This is really muscular and lean...tight, hard, angular, and extremely dry. Very refreshing too!

D - This one is a bit boring, but it's really quite drinkable despite it's flaws. I could session a six pack of this no prob. I would love to pour two of these into a big ass mug and sit out on my deck in the spring air....in fact, that's what I'm about to do!

A-Cloudy straw color with a short lived stark white 1/2 inch head. Fell to collar and thin coat.

S-Clean husky biscuit malt, mild earthy hops.

T-grainy, husky malts, earthy hops lend suprising level of bitterness, not high, just suprising. Mild sweetness creeps in before the bitter finish.

M-Nice crisp cabonation and light body.

D-okay, I could have few of these

Bischoff Pils gives off aromas of freshly mown hay and a lemony hops aroma too.

This produces about a finger thick bright white head that dissipates quickly into soft thin lacing. The body is ultra clear with a light golden presence.

This brew is not bitter at all like a typical German Pilsner. This is actually very lemony with a slight sweet undertone.

This beer is highly drinkable and a pleasure to drink.
