Live tasting.
Poured from a 1pint bottle. I must say that the presentation is great with the yellow wax on the cap. Anyhow, not much of a head. Slightly over carbonated for my liking. Pours a golden yellow colour which is a bit lighter then typical dubbels. I smell a touch of honey and maybe corn and a hint of banana. The taste is clean. Not a complex beer at all. Picking up some banana and buscuit. Alcohol presence is nowhere to be found. Medium bodied.
Overall this is an okay dubbel. Much better then some i have had. The boys at Ska hit this one pretty good.

A: Golden filtered with little carbonation, and a finger of off white head.

S: Belgian yeasts, slight smokiness, sweet, corn.

T: Belgian yeasts, slight smokiness, light sweetness, corn. Light fruitiness.

M: Medium light, slightly syrupy, medium low soda like carbonation.

O: An okay beer. As good as many Belgian versions I’ve tried. Got it at Earthfare, Asheville for $2.99 which I thought was a great deal for a 650 ml bottle.

Undated bottle at 40 degrees into snifter
Aroma of beer, think PBR
Head ridiculously small, ie 1 cm, white, fizzy, rapidly diminishing to < 2 mm broken layer
Lacing surprisingly good – nearly complete rings of small bubbles
Body light yellow, clear
Flavor spicy, slight malt; no alcohol, no malt, no diacetyl; as this warms, a spicier underlayer reveals itself
Palate light, watery, lively carbonation

Not unpleasant, but very little flavor. Watery, decent carbonation and appearance. Meh.

From a Bomber, $6.49.

A: Far too clear with no head.

S: Yeast and wheat. A little sugar. Smells a little burnt and stale. Still the highlight of the beer.

T: Peanut butter flavored bubblegum. Just horrible.

M: A little thin, but not terrible.

O: Hard to drink. Really disgusting.
