The stout pours from the bomber a pitch black with minimal head. The aroma is delightful and it almost makes me want to put the beer down and go get some choclate cake. Definatley a sweet beer. Almost a desert beer, but not quite. There is alot going on down there. I have only had a handfull of milk stouts, but this is the best. Out of Ska's four limted edition brews this year, it is the show stealer I think.

Boddy: Reddish brown can catch a lot of light, would thoght to be much darker.

Head: Tannish brown hold up well.

Smell: Great malty nose

Taste: Some lactose, tons of malt & almost like a yo hoo in respect, sits well on the tounge & should've had dessert with it.

Can certainally have more than one...

Nice roasty/chocolate-coffee aroma. Dark brown to black with no head at all just a wispy white rosharch test looking thing. Nice roasted/coffee flavor profile with some chocolate and malt sweetness. Tastes pretty good really, but feels more porterish than stout and that loses points when you call it a stout. Still tastes good though.

The beer belches forth from the 22-ounce brown bottle a soot black with a moderate sized semi-creamy light chocolate head that erodes rather quickly leaving a thick and glutinous sheet of lace to circumnavigate the glass. Nose has a rich milk chocolate and nice roasted grain aroma, sweet and fresh, start is somewhat sweet with a delectable malt presence and the top moderate to full in its feel to the palate. Finish has a determined acidity and the hops purposeful in their spiciness, the aftertaste continues the milk chocolate taste and is quite dry, a decent stout and worthy of a sample.

Poured into a standard pint glass.

The beer is espresso bean black with barely the faintest of brown hue on the edges. A nice foamy, frothy mocha head settles to a wisp of bubbles with a ring around the edges. A sort of wet, webbed lacing clings to the sides of the glass before disappearing.

The aroma is really pure and sweet, loads of sweet milky cocoa powder, but balanced out on the back end with bitter coffee.

This is probably the sweetest milk stout I’ve ever experienced. My taste buds are immediately coated with a sugary milkiness. It has a faint, saccharine-packet burn on the throat, not unlike that feeling I get when i eat a fudge brownie. Underneath the milkiness, I get bitter chocolate ultimately filling out the profile. The finish is slightly hoppy and dry, giving this beer a good balance from the sweetness.

The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied, sweet, and slightly dry.

This beer is extremely, extremely sweet. Loads of milky, sugary overload. Almost too sweet ...

Very plain and boring beer. Not much here to write home about. I am a huge lover of stouts and this is AVERAGE! OK to try once or twice, but I wouldn't recommend spending money on a 6 pack. Try sampling a single bottle before you buy a whole 6er or 12er.

Dark brown color, moving towards black with some highlighting. Tan head has lots of big bubbles and a tall appearance, but recedes beyond quickly. Hightails it, really. Lacing is spotty.

Lactic nose backing up the chocolate malts..some sweetness and some bitterness but not too strong. Earthy, touch of DMS.

Overall body is medium, not great but not too bad. Carbonation is a lot high, keeps the sweet milk component from mucking up the palate but really doesn't allow the flavors to properly satiate the taste buds. Faint notes of coffee but more on the chocolate side here, with what's there.

Finish is pretty dry, as mentioned tons of carbonation. The aftertaste is more of mineral water than anything, mildly acidic but not really very bitter.

Not my cup of tea..or milk stout.

Poured into oversized snifter.

Pours opaque dark brown/black with a nice creamy medium brown head. Very carbonated. The carbonation builds up a wall of symmetrical bubbles, kinda reminds me of an Atari game. There is a ring of creamy foam that remains on the glass with some continent-looking cling. The head keeps coming back when the beer is swirled.

Very woody, black licorice, dark chocolate, brown sugar, caramel, flan, dark malt, but everything is under the cover of a barrel aged soaking with some dark fruits like prunes. When swirled a wafting of dairy sweetness, condensed milk, and cocoa powder. Some dark

Very malty, dark and creamy with a woody, bitter cocoa, sweet dairy, burnt but balanced with a sweetness of caramel.

Silky, silky mouthfeel but a little watery could be fuller bodied. That is the only thing keeping it from excellent. Smooth, carbonation-free slickness. Goes down easy.

This is a truly a "working class milk stout". A fine offering from Ska Brewing. Truly a fine mild stout, try it!

The beer poured into the glass crystal clear black with a ruby highlight and a very low off-white head which lasted barely to lace the glass.

The aroma was slightly vegetal with a earthy component. Following that was a coffee expresso character and a roastiness. The beer was lightly fruity with the earthiness.

The flavor was acrid with a slightly burnt flavor, chocolate and coffee. The acidity in the grains was not balanced at all by any lactose. The flavor was immediately dry and the beer very acidic.

The finish was dry, bone dry with a lasting acidity from the roasted grains. The body was medium, but no more. Skip this one, not worth the effort.

22 ounce bottle. Thanks mentor!

Dark ruby color. Big fizzy light brown head. The head fizzes away rather quickly. (This isn't very inviting for a Milk Stout.) Aroma is chocolatey and lactic. Not a lot of complexity on the nose though and there seems to be something a little weird there as well. Mouthfeel is awful. Totally charged up and way to gaseous. The taste isn't that much better. Something is off with this one. Through a sea of eletrical fires, wet cardboard and plastic, some faint chocolate comes through...for an instant, then it's gone. This one is drainpour.

Thanks, but no thanks MJR.

Picked up a bottle at AJ's in late August for $1.59.

Beer poured a deep mahogany with a smallish tan head. Nose is of roasted malts and sweet mik chocolate. Taste is of the roasted malts, chocolate, with a light hop finish. Mouthfeel is very thin for the style and is not lively on the palate. Overall drinkability is pretty good. This is a fairly tasty beer that is worth a shot.
