12oz bottle poured into a mug.

A- Ebony body with a creamy off white head. Deep red accents around the edges under intense light. About a finger and a half of froth that leaves excellent lacing. Carbonation is visibly streaming up the sides of my glass.

S- Chocolate, dark fruits, and vanilla.

t- tastes like chocolate milk made with bitter chocolate. Notes of coffee lead into dark figs. Finishes creamy and smooth with a hint of vanilla.

m- full bodied considering the abv and style. Very velvety and smooth, small alcohol presence but it is well masked.

o- A fine milk stout. Well balanced and easy drinking.

Poured more of a dark brown than black with some ruby highlights,a thinner mocha colored head atop.Sweet lactose and caramel aromas along with dark roast and some roasted nut.Nice and smooth feel with little carbonation, sugary flavors upfront wih caramel and molasses,a nice drying roastiness in the finish. Not overly complex but its smooth and pretty flavorful.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown-black with a thin head that quickly goes to a thin collar that leaves little lacing.

The aroma is roasted grains, chocolate, and some coffee.

The flavor is roasted malts, some sweet lactic chocolate and a touch of coffee with a medium acidic roasted bitter finish that lingers nicely. The mouthfeel is medium to full with smooth carbonation.

Overall, I liked this stout - lots of nice roast and coffee. A nice surprise. I'll have to pick up more of this.

Opened 12 fluid ounce bottle, poured into nonic glass. Showed bottled first week of August (2007 I'd presume).

Pours an opaque black brew with very little head formation.

Nice Smells of coffees and chocolates... Slight smell of fresh milk. Taste follows with coffee, slight earthiness. Really low bubbles make this a really easy drinker - or sipper.

All in all, another nice brew from SKA.

A 355ml bottle with a BB of June 2012, so it's well out of date. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Aside from cursing the distributor, what can I do? Hope it hasn't deteriorated...

Poured into a tulip pint glass. A dark reddish-brown hue that appears black in the glass. Some sediment upon pouring. Produces a huge head of creamy light-brown foam with decent retention; it slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Aroma of rich roasted malt with notes of burnt grain, coffee, chocolate, molasses, brown sugar and mild earthy yeast. A subtle sweetness in the background. Nice.

Tastes of roasted malt with a restrained bitter finish. Notes of burnt grain, coffee, chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, mild lactose, a hint of earthy yeast and faint stewed hops. Slightly sweet, yet dry with a touch of cardboard. A subtle bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with well-judged carbonation but a rather thin body for the style. Slightly astringent, followed by an aftertaste of bitter roasted malt and faint lactose.

Tasty - a decent milk stout that goes down a treat. Looks the part, with a superb aroma of roasted malt and a good flavour that possesses a delicate sweetness. The body could use improvement; thicker and more velvety is the way to go. Overall though, a nice brew that hits the spot. I'd have one again - worth sampling if you come across it.

A deep brown appearance, just what I want to see in a milk stout. Aroma of roasted coffee malts.

Taste, enjoyable, hits the smoothness of style, while not compromising any of the chewiness and dark roast resulting in a solid, yet smooth stout. Chocolate stands tall as well. Never massive, a great sessionesque stout for the weekdays. Drank these while skiing mostly.

Poured from an inch or so above the glass gives this a small to medium light brown head above a clear dark brown to black colored beer.

A lightly roasted sweet malt aroma dominates on this medium to full bodied beer.

A milky light roasted chocolate malt taste with a light dry aftertaste that carries with it some of the chocolate malt tastes.

A good beer on rainy coldish night.

Part of a sampler I pick up in Colorado.

Opaque, like used motor oil..hard to pour a decent head on this, what there was disappeared quickly. Smells of chocolate and grassiness. A delicious coffee/chocolate (toffee?) smoothy..just enough hops and light carbonation to get the point across

An intresting and tasty brew..too bad I've only two left, this would be a fun one to keep around. I never seen this in my local stores.

Edit: I got out another one and a really slopped it in the glass...got a bout a 1" head that held for a minuite or two.

Roast bold heavy lactose mocha with aggressive carbonation and sour finish.Sour not sweet aftertaste. Some smokey astringency. I don't drink coffee nor put sugar into my drinks, but I appreciate the effort, and the milk stout style. This is not double cream Bell's.
Thank you Hopdog.

This little gem was sent as an extra in one of my awesome trades here on BA and has been sitting in my fridge for almost 9 months. Bottled in July, presumably last year.

Pours black with very little head. Nice and syrupy consistency to boot.

The nose has everything a milk stout should have. Lots of chocolate, caramel, coffee, and sweet cream fill my nose. I love the smell of this beer.

The taste has the sweetness up front, like a chocolate beer milkshake, with a little coffee and tobacco finish.

The feel is nice and creamy, yet not as thick as it looked coming out of the bottle. The carbonation is as low as expected, but still appropriate for the feel and style.

I don't know what took me so long to finally drink this beer. I'm definitely glad I did and it looks like I'll have to find more soon.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

A - Not really impressive. Looks like extremely low carbonation. I even show the last half inch in the bottle to make sure it was carbonated. After that there was a 1/4 inch caramel head. Other than that it's normal for what one expects a stout to look like. I found myself sometimes shaking the glass a bit to see if there was still carbonation there ...

S - Oh, nice. The sweetness comes straight out followed by a bit of a cream feel (sounds weird I know). I also get a bit of a chocolate milk vibe from it.

T - Very slight coffee, strong chocolate and a soda like finish. After a few sips it starts to muddle a bit.

M - It's a bit light but that is to be expected.

O - Overall it's a nice milk stout. I wouldn't recommend this for a first time milk stout drinker but I will have it again for sure.

Aroma: Light chocolate, cola, and coffee notes. Not bad in the aroma dept.

Appearance: Dark espresso brown. A very hard pour, however, results in VERY minimal bubbles. Looks like there's a significant carbonation issue with this one.

Flavor: Nice, sweet milk chocolate, some tootsie roll, and a vinous note. Bitterness is enough to provide a little bit of balance, but does not hang on through the finish.

Mouthfeel: A thick, slick, syrupy body, which is excellent for the style. Unfortunately, though, this one is highly under-carbonated; almost completely flat. This significantly diminishes the enjoyment of this beer.

Overall: On a positive note, the flavors and body of this beer are great. On the flip side, however, the serious lack of carbonation (not to mention any foam) is a big problem. The beer reminds me of a good homebrew that I've tasted prior to racking to the bottling bucket-- it's just not a finished product. If you can find it adequately-carbonated on draught, try it. Otherwise, I'd recommend avoiding this one.

Pours deep mahogany to black with a 1finger deep tan head that drops away quick. No lacing & minimal head retention

Smell: Choclate & slight iron smell

Taste: Choclate & roast grains up front. Lactic/milky character asserts as it warms. Finishes fruitty, sweet & malty

MF: Rich & well balanced, but slightly undercarbonted

Drinks too easy, very nice example of a milkstout, yum
