Poured from bottle into pint glass.

A- Milky golden.

S- Heavy malts, little bit of cereal.

T- Deffinately has the malts. Slight aftertaste of lemon or somethin tangy.

M- Heavy carbonation, and the malts hit almost immediately.

O- Good, I like blonde ales and put this one right at about average. The malts were just a little on the heavier side of some I've tasted, but overall good.

Tasted and reviewed on 10/25/11 @ 1930-2000.

I wanted something easy to drink while watching the Pistons game tonight so I picked this, pours a clear light golden color with a soapy looking light head.Aromas of toasted grain and some honey thrown in not to bad, taste is toasted up front with a lightly sweet/honey finish. This beer served its need good with some chilly dogs. Not a award winner by any means but a quaffer and better alternative to a macro lager for sure.

Presentation: 12oz brown bottle. Comic book style label depicting a SKA/MOD blonde babe on a scooter. Vroom! -- but no freshness date.

Appearance: Cloudy/hazy (yeast in the bottle) pale yellow beer with a white whispy, mostly ringed, lace.

Smell: Quite malty, floral and pleasantly aromatic with notes of sweet honey and a grain backbone.

Taste: Smooth and creamy with a medium body. A husky grain tannin feel on the palate follows, along with a thin sweetness of the sugar water kind. Some fruity apple and honey flavours come up for air, backed by an earthy flowery flavour that, unfortunately, gets quickly choked by a grainy flavour. Slight crispness. Finishes with a musty grain residual flavour/feel that levels to a dry palate.

Notes: For a few sips, an interesting beer. Then the flavours get lost in a very tannin and thin character. Worth a try? Maybe, but you're not missing much if you skip this one.

Thanks to Arctic Liquors for the sample.

Poured a light clear golden color, with a small head with big bubbles that mostly dissipated quickly. Has a honey aroma with floral hints. The initial taste was of honey with some citrous on the side. I normally expect a blonde ale to be pretty bland, but this had more flavor than most.

A 355ml bottle with no visible BB date (smudged off). However I believe that this bottle is out of date - I hope it hasn't deteriorated too much. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. The ingredient list mentions that this contains wildflower honey.

Poured into a straight pint glass. A bright pale-gold colour with faint haze and medium carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing. Aroma of light malt with hints of fruity ale yeast, subtle grass and faint stewed hops. Grainy and very slightly sweet, with a twinge of cardboard. Not much going on.

Tastes of light malt with a mild, dry finish. Notes of fruity ale yeast, grain, subtle grass/hay, faint earthiness and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a crisp, mild bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and decent body that matches the style. Slightly astringent, with an weak aftertaste of light malt and fruity yeast esters.

So-so; not unpleasant but not terribly impressive either. Looks quite nice, but the aroma and flavour are bland and understated. A decent body can't rescue it. The honey might be there - an evanescent floweriness lurks in the background, however it's hard to be sure. Drinkable but forgettable. No need to seek it out.

Clear straw colored, the pour resulted in a frothy, peaky head, about 1 ½ ", decent retention and lacing is interesting, in that its frothy ribbons keep clinging minutes after the beer is finished. Smells a grassy/floral, a hint of honey maybe some ginger, nothing stands out strongly. Malty back note in the flavor, not sure of the of hops, I believe Cascade or Chinook balanced nicely against the malt and honey. Good mouthfeel and superb drinkabiltiy.

A solid beer in every regard, very refreshing.

Can poured into pint glass

Appearance: thin lacing sitting on top of a blond/yellow brew.

Smell: thick wheat scent, crunchy, citrus, and grainy.

Taste: Non-existant hop flavor, strong wheat profile with no discernable alcohol flavor.

Needs more spice, possibly from hops. All other flavors in accordance with the style.

A- pale light yellow golden color with one finger of head which quickly dissolves. Good carbonation and thin lacing on my glass

S-malt nose with a hint of honey and fruit in the nose.

T- A dry malty sweetness with a hint of floral hops and honey. Light crisp and refreshing taste with a corn grainy finish. A thin ale.

M- dry, light body and smooth with a bit of a sticky finish likely from the fresh honey that is added.

D- Overall a good session beer. This was served at a pre-wedding party and provided a nice introduction to a broad cross section of beer drinkers.

A - transparent, golden yellow with a quarter of an inch of thick, pure white head that has decent retention

S - faint cereal grains, a hint of lemon, faint grassy hops

T - bready, cereal grains, lemon, faint grass

M - light to medium bodied, a bit crisp but well carbonated

This is a rather malty brew. The bready flavors are intense. There are some fruity notes that come trhough as well. The lemon is most evident. There are some subtle, grassy hops, but overall, this is a bit unbalanced and ultimately a bit forgettable.

Apperance: Pretty standard for a light ale. Decent level of foam and some good carbonation. Lacing is ok too.

Smell: Some cider and lemon qualities. Good.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Mostly some honey-like malt with a bit of cider-like fruitiness. Can't complain overall. Gets kind of boring after a while. Mouthfeel has a nice body.

Overall Drinkability: A bit disappointing, but still worth the try.

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Thin white head which is lost quickly. No haze light golden body.

S: Lemon zest. light on the aroma, a refreshing smell.

T: A light orange taste, with lemon. a bit sweet on the finish.

M: Short and crisp, not much lingering taste.

D: In a can bonus, but a very lighter blonde in regards to taste and aroma. A good drinkable and light bodied beer.

12oz can, leftover from a mixer 12pack. the blonde ales are always the leftovers

appearance: bright yellow can - poured into a tyranena pint, dull yellow body but a nice thick white foam head

smell: light and clean, grassy hops, toasted grain, lemon peel

taste: not much going on her - no standout flavors...old lemon, a touch of sweetness from the hops, grain.

mouthfeel: light bodied

drinkability: good - tailgate/lawnmower beer

Merry Christmas!!!!The first beer on this blessed Holiday is a True Blonde from SKA. The beer pours a golden clear with thin white head that is not lacing....due to the fruitiness. The smell has subtle lemon flare with delicate malt balance. The taste is a great balanced beer with good lemon zeal. The mouthfeel is a medium to light body with good carbonation. Overall the beer is quite tasty....and highly recommended.

12oz via Beermasons, poured into a Golden Monkey tulip.

Pours a hazy true-golden colour, with a nice white, soft, small-bubbled head of foam. Ok retention, the odd drip of lacing on the way down.

Smell is a mix of light floral bush honey to start, then lemon, lemon zest, orange peel and then sweet malt.

Taste is more of that sweet malt, not over the top, but it builds. Little bit of bush honey as a closer, but faint.

Some light pepperiness to it as well, instead of any noticeable hop bitterness. Body is more than sufficient for the style and ABV.

Nothing wrong with this, decent, simple enough to be sessionable, body is big enough to be content with just one. Have bought plenty worse.

Could've swore I reviewed this in the bottle, oh well..

Pours an effervescent gold with 3 fingers of fluffy pearl white head. Above average head retention

S: Grassyness, yeasty notes along with grainyness & lemons

T: Follows the nose, light crackery & bready notes, along with grassy hops up front. Grassyness & slight grainyness dominates as this warms, along with a slight herbal hoppyness, yeastyness peters out. Finishes dry, grassy & with hint of herbal hops, honey & crackery notes

MF: Light/medium bodied, fairly sparkling carbonation, fair balance

Drinks easy, but not interesting enough for me to want to session on...

Poured a lightly hazy straw yellow with a small white head.

Smell is sweet with a light orange scent.

Taste has a sweet maltiness with a touch of honey, finishes with a bit of a light musty hop flavor.

Mouthfeel is light and watery.

Not a bad beer, just another average attempt at a pretty average style.

A nice little ale that is available in cans. A winner right there. Pours a bright golden color with one inch of white head that slowly settled to a half-inch and hung in there to the bottom of the glass. Moderate amount of lacing is left on the glass. Clean aroma of bready malt and cereal grains. Not much else to expand on in the aroma. Pleasant taste of light malt and some hops giving notes of melon and grass. Just slightly sweet. Finishes clean. Light body with good carbonation that keeps things lively without being prickly. Really nice for a lighter tasting beer. A refreshing beer that hit the spot on a hot evening. No problem finishing off several of these in a sitting.

A - Light golden in color with little head and no lacing. typical for a blonde ale.

S - little smell, more of a hoppy smell with citrus undertones. Not impressed.

T - decent hoppness with a lemony taste. .

M - Creamy, easily the best part of this beer.

D - Nice beer to sit down and drink. The mouthfeel really makes the beer one that i would drinkt more than one of.

12oz. can poured into a pint glass.

A: clear golden/straw color with a foamy, eggshell-white head. A few floaties are suspended in the glass. Head settles quickly into a thin ring with minimal lacing.

S: Mostly biscuit malt, caramel, and subtle hints of floral hops. Aromas of raw grains also enter the nose. As it warms, a musty aroma presents itself.

T: Biscuit and caramel malts with subtle hints of hops and sweet apples. As with the aroma, a bit of raw grain flavor skips in and out with each sip.

M: prickly carbonation initially greets the tongue and roof of the mouth. Medium bodied with a crisp, smooth and fizzy finish. Hops leave a bit of a sticky feeling on the lips.

D: drinkable, though not very complex. Hops are only detected with a subtle hint on the nose and a sticky film on the lips, though I believe that is to style. It's a cold night in Chicago- this beer is more suited for a hot summer afternoon when you want something refreshing with some taste but not too heavy.

Pours out to a rocky, frothy white head that falls very little. Lacing is moderate. Pale straw-gold color. Aroma is sweet grains, floral hops and a slight butter-creme note. Flavor is mostly pale lager malt and noble hops to balance, with a dry, crisp finish. Mouthfeel is light and CO2 is appropriate. This is a very good Blonde Ale.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Best by date of 5/27/11 lasered on the neck. Was a hazy golden color with lots of little yeast bits floating around. Good carb streams. Had a barely there head that quickly dissipated into a very, very tiny and partial ring. No lacing.

The aroma was bready and grainy malt with a touch of honey as well. A little citric hops but not much. The taste was grainy with a little sweet from the honey. Decent for what it is but not much flavor there. Medium mouthfeel with good carbonation and a sweet aftertaste.

Overall, a middle of the road blonde ale that I won't remember 15 mins from now. Not that it's bad but just not much there to get excited about. Avail here in TX. Rotation - I Like the other Ska offerings much better so I'll stick to those [N;N]

12oz can.
A) Pours withe a finger thick head and settles quickly to big bubble lacing at the edge of the glass. Slightly hazy to the golden body. Thin, sticky lacing on the drink down.
S) Some wheat notes with subtle hints of citrus. Some pungent earthy aromas work their way out on the tip up.
T) Very mellow malty flavors at first then moves to a light citrus sweetness - orange with some lemon. Astringent in the finish.
M) Crisp. Light bodied. Quite dry in the finish leaving a heavy tannin feel on the tongue.
D) One is enough for me. Maybe in a pinch I'd drink another one.
