Can into pint glass
A – 1+ finger dusty cream head on a clear light brown amber brew, reduces to a lumpy layer while leaving lacing all around the glass 4
S – Aroma enticing and noticeable upon start of pour, very nice grassy nose also has mild citrus & pine resin notes with a soft caramel sweetness 4
T – Caramel malts out of the gate are eclipsed by a surprisingly large hop presence of grapefruit zest and substantial bitterness, suggestions of a candied tartness 4
M – Medium body, smooth with a dry finish, moderate carbonation 4
O – More hops than your standard pale ale but malts are not in a minor role, good drinkability, a good beer I will buy again sooner rather than later 4

Amber-brown in color with a white head. Good carbonation.

Aroma is malty and sweet. Lots of toast and caramel. No hop aroma

Sweet, toast a and caramel again. Just enough hops to balance out the finish.

Good medium body for style.

A well made beer, balanced, sessionable, but nothing amazing.

Poured from a can into a great divide tulip, because it's the only glassware I have in my hotel room. Best by April 14.

A: Pours a deep, ruby tinged amber that is slightly hazy. 1 1/2 fingers of big, foamy, straw-colored head that dissipates after minutes to a thick ring of foam, leaving sticky lacing up the side of the glass. This is just too dark for a pale ale, but it looks delicious anyway.

S: Big sweet candy and wheat malt aromas accompanied by a slight spice and citrus hop character.

T/M: Medium mouthfeel with medium-to-high carbonation, mouthfeel is slightly coating and juicy without being oily. Prickly carbonation leads into a big juicy sweetness of citrus fruits alongside lightly bready malt character. Carbonation props up lots of malt and fruit sweetness. Alcohol is very evident on the finish, accompanied by a swelling and lingering hop bitterness and another mild wave of malt.

O: This beer is a little dark for a pale ale, but is otherwise really nice. The strong citrus presence help to justify the otherwise slightly strong bitterness of the finish. I would call this an IPA rather than a PA if forced to choose a style, but it's a tasty beer nonetheless. Very drinkable.

One of the best pale ales in a can you'll ever find, if you can find it. Tastes great, high abv, eight of these and your doing fine. I like the skeleton on the can. Good marketing dude. Supposedly comes out around Christmas and runs out in February. Drank the last two March 3rd, so that rumor seems true.

A 355ml can with a BB of Jan 2014. Picked up recently from Trembling Madness in York. A pale ale for winter....

Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear brownish-amber hue with low carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a surface layer. Nice lacing. Aroma of pine, subtle weed, peel, grass/hay, sweet caramel malt and earthy yeast. Hoppy and nicely balanced.

Tastes of intense aromatic hops and sweet malt, with a spicy bitter finish. Notes of pine resin, dank weed, orange peel, mild grapefruit, citrus, grass/hay, white pepper, caramel, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, followed by a resinous bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with mild carbonation and decent body. Hop oils stimulate the tongue. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of pine resin, bitter aromatic hops and faint caramel.

Good stuff - my only real complaint is that it isn't particularly pale. More like an American 'bitter'. Looks OK, colour notwithstanding. The aroma and flavour are distinctly hop-driven, with a subtle malt backbone to provide balance. Decent body; carbonation could be enhanced to add texture. While I don't find the style to be especially suited to winter, it is a deliciously drinkable brew. Worth a punt if you come across it.
