12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass. Bottled on the 4th week of December. Comes in at 6.8%.
A-Pours a clear dark amber with some red and orange highlights. It has a one finger off white head that fairly quickly dissolves to a frothy layer that covers the majority of the beer. Has some nice lace.
S-Not an overwhelming nose. There is a subtle aroma of pine and citrus hops that are blended with toasted pale malt.
T-Pine and earthy hop flavors come out first. This is quickly followed by a malt background that tastes of caramel and toasted pale malt. The citrus hops are noticeable towards the back. There is a grassy finish. The aftertaste is composed of bitter grapefruit. The pine gets stronger as it warms up.
M-Medium bodied, creamy, and lightly carbonated.
D-The grassy finish was a little too off-putting for me. It has some nice bitterness.
Another IPA that I would file in the not great, not bad category. This was consumed less than a month after it was bottled so it was about as fresh as you are going to get.
