Good appearance. Dark amber with ruby hints. Nice head and lacing.

Very appealing mild citrus and stronger pine aroma. Totally correct for the style. Not a super strong aroma but quite good.

Taste is typical American IPA and similar to SN Torpedo to my taste buds. Good balance of sweet and bitter. Not huge citrus tatses but a bit of orange is there. Nice piney flavour, resinous feel and solid malt core make this a good drinking IPA. IBUs are noticeable and welcome!

Overall, a very solid offering and rendition of this renown style of beer. Perhaps nothing outstanding or remarkable for those who've tried a few of this style but definitely enjoyable. This would have a wow factor for anyone not used to big, hoppy US beers.

Served cool from 355ml can into straight pint glass.

A) Light copper colour, head is thin, slightly off-white but persistent. Only slight carbonation visible.

S) More muted than other American IPAs I've had, but fruity hops are detectable. Alcohol also smellable.

T) Nicht so gut. Quite bitter. I bought a few well-known American IPAs to see what the hype is all about. They have all been fantastic but I have feared getting one like this. Bitter up front masking the fruity hops and malts behind.

M) Almost flat. Bitter astringency at the back of the mouth.

O) No better than the American IPA imitations you can buy in English pubs now, and the strong alcohol content is pointless. Go for SN Torpedo or the Founders IPAs instead.

Appearance: Dark amber color with minimal white head

Smell: Pine and resin nose

Taste: Grapefruit, pine, and resin

Mouthfeel: Medium body, good carbonation

Overall: This is a very good brew, excellent example of the style, but only something I would buy if readily available. Nothing about it is really above and beyond other readily available IPAs.

A: Copper amber, filtered with lots of fine bubbled carbonation, 3 fingers of light tan chunky frothy head. Nice chunky lacing.

S: Pine, orange, caramel, toffee, that’s about it.

T: Pine, orange, caramel, toffee, light dull bitterness on the end. Well balanced.

M: Medium syrupy body, little carbonation.

O: Well done. Not up to the caliber I was expecting by far, but hugely drinkable and well balanced. Bought in Asheville, NC at Earthfare, drank in Kunming, China Aug 30th 2014. Reminds me of Brooklyn Pre- Prohibition Lager.
