Bought this in the can at Shuga's in Colorado Springs for something like $3. Poured into a pint glass.
Pours with normal head for a canned IPA- one finger over an orange/amber head.
This IPA is pretty straight down the road, with moderate bitterness, a strong dose of hoppiness supported by minimal malt flavors, and a slight astringency.
Conclusion: I like IPAs that deliver strong, bold, clear hop flavor but allow the malts to shine as well, and do all this with lower than average bitterness. This IPA doesn't fit that description, but as one of the hundreds of identical American IPAs that abound, it is a fine choice.

From 12oz can to Bruges hybrid glass on 11/28/11
-- boatshoes, you're the man for supplyin' this one --
A: A firm pour yields a big and dense three finger white head. Nice lacing and retention. The hue of the beer is a clean reddish-amber.
S: Resinous. Concentrated pine attacks the nose. No real fruit here.
T: Quite similar. Lots of pine oil - it pricks the tongue and really makes for a full palate assault.
M: This is a pretty full bodied IPA. It's got plenty of creamy carbonation and texture.
O: Ska Brewing's Modus Hoperandi has been a longtime want, so you can understand my excitement to see this extra peering out from my trade box. It may not beer the beer I wanted it to be (floral, tropical fruity hops), but it ain't half bad and would certainly fill my daily hop fix, given I was in it's distro window.

Modus pours a nice orange-red color. Initially almost looked flat, but quickly gained small white bubbles that rise throughout the 30 minutes I drank this brew.
Smell is a little subtle. Carmel and slight grapefruit are present up front. I did not get a smell until I got my nose in the glass.
Taste is very refreshing. I enjoyed this cold and after 20 minutes at room temp. I think it really opened up over time with more pronounced flavored. Orange peel, lemon, grapefruit, and kiwi. Also hints of caramel. Balanced well, but also no explosion that I have come to expect with IPAs.
Nice brew and if I had it as a local brew I would have it in the fridge all the time.
Thanks to azdback for the extra!

A gracious extra from xpimptastikx. Thanks Michael.
The beer is transparent and copper to orange in color. The aroma is the best aspect of the beer. Fresh, dank hop scents, nice notes of pine. Good flavor as well. Hop forward with a pleasant, lingering bitterness. Light to medium bodied with crisp carbonation. A solid IPA. I would have this again.

MH has good look, decent smell and, at best, decent taste. It has bitterness but not quite enough flavor to back it up. I'm not disappointed with it but for the price I don't think it measures up. The best way to put it is that is doesn't taste bad but rather bland or lacking.

This beer pours a clear orange caramelly color with a nice amount of creamy looking off-white head that leaves a fair amount of lacing on the glass.
It has an herbal and hoppy aroma, not overpoweringly hoppy though, theres something kind of peppery in it I can't quite put my finger on.
Flavor wise it starts out really smooth and then the hops take control, its not extremely hoppy on the finish but it leaves that bitter hops bite. Its actually fairly thick and wet for an IPA, I dig it.
