The perfect Mexican lager. Light and refreshing, it really hits the spot after a long day of brutal chainsaw work. Brewed with the finest malt, Saaz hops, yeast, water, and love.

Had on tap at the brewery.

On arrival barely a finger of bone white head, not that that says much, was present, with surprisingly good retention only losing a few millimeters. Decent lacing is left. Beer is clear and slightly darker than your golden straw lagers.

The beer was served with a lime, so the aroma is a bit citric, but it almost seems like there would be some citrus character without the lime. Aroma is incredibly dry, with the vague hint of corona skunk. I wonder if hop breeders have come up with a slightly skunked hop for Mexican lager/corona clones?

Taste follows the aroma with the incredible dryness and slight skunky aroma followed by citrus. There may be some corn here, but all the malt or grain character here is very light, and covered by the "beer" flavor from layering. This beer really wants salt and for me to squeeze in this lime, which I'm about to do after this review.

Feel is very drinkable, and is where this beer comes into its own. The feel is very light due to the dryness, but not watery with a decent finish. I could definitely chug this beer so it's doing its job on this front.

Overall this is a decent beer, but it is definitely trying to be both craft and "cervesa" at the same time. Not bad, but I'm very excited to squeeze this lime and add some salt.

Light gold with a short white blanket dying to an uneven collar leaving thin lacing.

A little phenolic at first, even almost of clovey, settled by a touch of toasted wheat. I notice several other reviews mentioning wheat, and also peppercorn, which might be the phenolic note I'm detecting. Either way, both are a bit out of character for the style. Some toasty corn bread does emerge, but that unusual herbal bitterness brings me again to an almost Belgian golden strong head space, which is just super weird for the otherwise low ABV.

The medium body has a firm fizz that comes to a semi-dry swallow.

I see here more than most Mexican lagers how well the lime on the rim helps. It's the only thing that makes me remotely think of Mexican lager, which is deceptive.

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.

Pours a clear straw gold with an inch of foam, lacing is good.

Smells of lime, corn, bread.

Taste is lime, grain, corn, some bread notes. Taste is like a Mexican Lager. Fancy that.

Good mouthfeel. This one I could have fairly often.

Its like what would happen if Bohemia and Pacifico had a baby and someone raised it in a craft brewery.
Fantastic stuff.

Looks to be a light and clear pale yellow color with a nice 3 finger head that is thick like meringue. Great retention. Smells malty with crackers and bread. Taste is cracker and slightly sweet. Fairly light in flavor but enjoyable. Feels a bit thin even for a lager. Overall a nice refreshing beer that is lighter but has a nice all around flavor. I would buy again.
