Well thinking this might be something more than it was I planned a meeting with friends at this place hoping this place might help educate some of my buddies with some decent beer.I walked in and within thirty seconds my hopes faded, wanna be thugs out the ying yang hats turned sideways and starter jerseys everywhere no quiet spots in any corner except in the back near the video games.Besided the annoying patrons the tap selection was quite uninspireing Carolina Blond,Hoegarden, and Redhook nut brown were the best that could be offered the rest were mainly domestic macro, euro pale lagers, and the local Red Oak and Battlefield Black. The wings were decent but Iam sick of getting served ranch dressing with Buffalo wings but thats a different story in its self.It was loud, annoying, and the tap selection was very average dont ever judge a bar by its name nothing special here at all.

A very close establishment to where I live. The name would imply a much better beer selection, but it seems to have gone downhill according to the previous reviews after they moved to the new location. However it is a great place for some bar food, loved it both times I have gone so far. Got a Burger and Rueben, both outstanding. Same with the apps. They had Hazy Little Thing, 2 Hearted, and Red Oak Amber/Hummingbird. Doesn't seem like they rotate taps with anything new, but if you want to go watch a sports game and enjoy a good beer with food, it's worth a stop. Staff was very attentative for us, making sure we were satisfied the whole time, which was noteworthy.

The quality of Coopers has really gone down hill.
Today it was myself, my husband and our teenage daughter. The place only had a half a dozen people there. We ordered Cheese head fries, a Cesar Salad with Grilled shrimp and a chicken quesadilla.
Cheese fries were missing the bacon the salad came out as a side salad amd grilled shrimp on the side and the chicken quesadilla had gobs of cheese inside of it and wasn't cooked well to the point it was soggy from the amount of cheese.
When we confronted out server about the fries. She said we would have to pay a dollar for the bacon, even though in the description it says bacon come on them at no extra charge. When we asked her about the salad she said oh I thought you wanted a side cesar salad. At this point tempers were hot we asked to speak with the manager. She came out we explained our concerns and complaints to her. Her replies were the server just came back from vacation, this is a new menu (The server isn't the one who cooked the food) the managers next excuse was well thats how it use to be and our system isnt updated.

At the very end of the day it is the managers responsibily to ensure the kitchen is preparing food according to the new menu. It is the managers responsibily to ensure that the server who just came back from vacation knows that the system doesn't match the new menu. Overall poot management was the major issue with our service. When I called the manager out regarding her lack of responsibility she wanted to continue to place blame on the kitchen on the server on the system.

We won't be back any time soon. Hopefully the owner reads this and takes action before all those dollars on the recent upgrades goes down the tubes.

Stopped by here for lunch when in town today. Have never been here before, so I wanted to check it out. The bar is at the center of the place with lots of tall tables scattered around it. A few seating areas designated to themselves. I saw a billiard room to the left as well. The bar area definitely errs on the "sport's bar" side of things. Lots of game devices around. And TV's were everywhere. Their beer list was pretty impressive to say the least. Much better than I had expected. Had a couple dozen taps, with the usual Big-3 offerings, but some decent craft offerings as well. Their bottle list is what sets this apart. Around 200 bottles listed, including a good number of bombers, many of which are seasonal. Most all of the big names, as well as locals, in the craft-world were represented with anywhere from 2-5 of their standard offerings, such as: Bell's, Founders, Victory, Stone, Hebrew, Brooklyn, Rogue, Smuttynose, etc. A decent amount of foreign offerings as well. This place won't get the special releases or "rare" beers on tap, but they most likely will have something for even the most discerning of beer-palates. As far as their food, I had their NY strip po'boy with potato salad. Both were above average. I think I'd come back to this place if I ever find myself in the area again.

This place has a few decent beers on tap, though too much tap space is dedicated to swill. They have an impressive bottle selection with some impressive price gauging. Ask for prices before ordering because they're all over the map. The food my party ordered ("asian" dumpings and crab dip) was salty, greesy and overpriced for coming straight from the freezer. Service was attentive since they were clearly trying to free a booth before we were done, though once the table beside us got overcrowded and obnoxious, we were able to "relax" somewhat.

Stopped in here for something to eat upon getting back into Greensboro from the Foothills Baltic Porter release. The place is easily spotted with a massive sign right out front. Lots of parking and even an overflow lot just down a small hill. Upon walking in it appeared to be like any other sports bar I have been to. Lots of high top tables, boothes, etc. The bar was in the center of the place and had seating all the way around. Took a seat at the bar and asked to see the beer list. WOW! For a sports bar this beer list was quite impressive. I took the time to count all of their offerings and counted 24 taps and 198 bottles listed. Lots of locals, micros, Belgians, and of course macros represented here. You would be hard pressed to find something you didn't like for sure. Ordered some food as well. The food was okay, but I did like that for their chips they were freshly cut and fried potato slices rather than from a bag. Overall this was a nice location that I am glad I got the opportunity to visit. Would I visit again? Probably, but won't the next time I'm in town.

To be honest the place makes a better restaurant then it does a beer bar.

But to each is own. Nice atmosphere, really the kind of place I could take the family without a problem. Warm and welcoming. Food was great I thought, Really nice sized dishes and really tasted quite fresh. Beer list was average at best and riddled with macro. Some regional selection and your standard stellas and things of that nature. Not terrible, just not what I was really looking for.

Overall I thought it was a really decent place to eat out at, but I ont think I would really call it a beer destination in any way.

I went to Cooper's last night with my wife and some of our friends mainly to see a certain performer. To be a bar, the atmosphere was nothing special. Maybe I would've thought differently if six of us hadn't been crammed around a four person table, but even so the layout seemed bizzare to me. Clientele was respectful and responsible enough, though I doubt many of them were there for the beer selection; I could be wrong.

Quality was OK, after a few drinks we couldn't tell if some of the pitchers and pint glasses were dirty or just damaged. The beer was fresh but unfortunately quite a few of the pint glasses they brought us were very warm; totally fucked up my first glass of Boddingtons.

Service was lacking in a number of respects. I understand the volume these places deal with, especially on a Friday night and the absurd demands places like this put on their staff, but even so we went a whole half hour or more without our waitress even checking on us. I also had a couple of bottles of Hoegaarden served to me with a lemon in the neck (well, the first one had an orange, the second had a lemon, neither of which I requested) and I felt they should've at least asked me.

I was pretty impressed by their selection considering the bars that I've visited. Around 24 beers on draught, and American macros made up maybe 1/3 of that list. They did offer a plethora of mircos and imports in bottles. I was excited to see Paulaner's Hefe on the list, but after a lot of confusion with the waitress I learned they were out.

I didn't have any of the food, but some of the folks with us had some chips and spinach artichoke dip. I didn't hear anyone complain and it was all eaten, so I'm sure it wasn't too bad.

I only say the value is reasonable considering that it's a bar. The shit is already expensive, but it's on par with other places like this. Not cheap, but not over-the-top for a bar of it's standing.

I had a pretty good time here, and by the time I've had five or six drinks the beer list is less impressive and the atmosphere is more where my mind is at. It was nice to have this choice early on, but when I began trying to soak the place up it just wasn't all that it could've been. I'd like to visit again on a slower night where there wasn't live music.

I live right near Coopers, so when I first moved in it was the first place we went. It really wasn't what I was expecting, especially since the name implies that it's an 'Ale House', but after I gave it a chance I left feeling satisfied. The food is pretty good, with the selection ranging from burgers and fries to pasta dishes. You get nice sized portions and I never had a complaint about the food. Now to the important part, the beer. They have quiet a selection of both domestic and import, but only a few macrobrews on tap. They do offer Red Oak on tap which is nice to see a local selection. The bottled selections are very nice, with most of the major contributors to the beer world represented along with a few nice surprises. All in all, a very satisfying restaurant/bar.

Love the brew!

PS - Be sure to ask for a non-chilled glass because it will be served chilled otherwise.
