This is a nice place to eat. Even better it has a nice selection of beers. I ordered a left hand nitro milk stout was about $4.25. The atmosphere is also again very nice you can go to catch a drink at the bar or, it can make a great date spot. The waiter I had was very knowledgeable about beer and, offered pretty good selections. Food ranges from $10-30 it all depends on what you want. The downside is like most old town places its a bit tight on size. That is its only down side in my opinion.

I went to The Brick house Run when I was in Petersburg on the recommendation of the person in my training class. Fortunately since we were there for dinner and on or last night in town, we could partake in their beer selection. Like any good English Style Pub all the beers are served in 20oz Imperial Pint glasses. They have all your typical pub brews Guinness, Harp, London Pride, John Courage, Old Speckled Hen, Legend Brown, and St. George's Cask Lager IPA which was on hand pump. There were nine of in my party and we were seated very quickly. Our waitress was very quick and knew the menu well. We all ordered a variety of meals that arrived very quickly. The portions were very large and the taste was good on all of them. Most of the people could not finish their meals. I had fish & chips and I would recommend it.

The Brickhouse Run is an English Style Pub located in Old Town Petersburg about 20-25 minutes south of Richmond. The owners, Steve Dickinson and his wife Ella, have recreated a British Pub with extreme accuracy from the atmosphere down to the dimensions of the bar itself. Unlike many other bars I have gone to, the staff makes an effort to know each one of their customers personally, and more often than not will be able to greet you by name after your first visit.
The beer selection is what one would expect in a British Pub. There are 6 beers on modern tap (Harp, Guinness, Old Speckled Hen, London Pride, Legend Brown, and St. George's Lager) and a hand pump which currently has St. George's Cask Conditioned IPA on tap. Tap beers are served in 20oz Imperial Pint glasses and are in the $3.50 - $4.50 range. Multiple bottled beers are available ranging from Coors Light to Bass to Yuengling. The Brickhouse also has a pretty good selection of wine and liquor (including several fine scothes). The bartender, John Marler, is also a local historical tour guide, so he can tell you just about anything you want to know about Petersburg and its history.
The food is more on par with a fine restaurant than a bar, although the prices are quite reasonable for the high quality. Appetizers range from $6 - $10 and entrees run from $12 - $25. The menu is changed every couple of months, but traditional favorites like Shepard's Pie and Fish n' Chips are always available. Currently (as of mid-June '06) their menu also has several pasta dishes, steaks, scallops, salmon, and a daily soup special (plus many others that I cannot recall off the top of my head).
The Brickhouse is open Tuesday through Saturday starting at 5pm. Pub Trivia night is the first Tuesday of every month. Starting July 6th, the Brickhouse will be non-smoking.
