Pure gold color, subtle carbonation, huge white, chunky head (3.75). Floral and pine hop notes; lemon zest (4.25). Excellent marriage of hops and grains in the flavor; lemon tartness and mildly biting hop bitterness with a low-key malt base riding beneath it all; light Xmas cookie dough (3.75). Medium bodied; crisp, clean and dry.

The amarillo hops profile nicely and pretty much steal the show. The malt base does a fine job supporting the hops. Delicious and very easy drinking. For a single hop IPA, this is quite good...

Pours a cloudy orange/amber color. The smell isn't particularly citrusy as the label indicates, just mostly smells of pine. Has a medium body, clean taste, and nice bitter finish. I get a slightly citrus rind taste with the finish as well but it does not dominate the flavor. it's a decent IPA, but nothing of note.

22oz bottle poured into a large mug. No dates or codes on the bottle that I can find.

Pours slightly cloudy, rich amber, with a big coarse head that fades slowly and a surprisingly small amount of active carbonation. Smell is disappointing. Straw, old hop smell. Maybe that's just the smell of amarillo hops -- that would be interesting.

Taste is better than the smell indicates to me. A somewhat lemony bitterness, piney/citrus bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and effervescent. Overall, it's fine.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: medium orange hue with a light haze and a very strong effervescence. Head is two fingers of pillowy ivory foam with a hint of an orange cast. I think it's IPA-riffic.

Smell: lightly malty aroma with a bit of sweetness and a rather soapy character. Hops are on the floral side with a very small hint of herbiness. Not too bad.

Taste: graininess before sweetness on the malt bill here, with a floral/soapy hop character. It's not bad, if that's your thing, but it really doesn't scream Amarillo to me in the slightest. Bottle confirms this is indeed all-Amarillo -- but it really doesn't taste like it. That said, it's still a halfway-decent IPA.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess. Not bad for the style.

Overall: maybe not the greatest IPA in the world, and really not obviously Amarillo, but still a decent quaff.

This beer is a clear gold color with a moderate but thick head. The nose--is an explosion of hops. It was well evident as I was pouring it, very highly citrusy, flowery. On taste: lots of bitterness, immediately followed by hops and nothing but hops. Malt is light and not really detectable. Tasty at first, but it's perhaps too bitter and one dimensional to be truly interesting.

Pours a clear, gold color. 1/2 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of citrus hops, wet hops, caramel malt, earthy malt, hint of sweet malt, and a hint of floral. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is an average bitterness and slight dryness. Tastes of citrus hops, slight sweet malt, slight floral hops, hint of alcohol, earthy malt, and hint of caramel malt. Overall, good appearance, aroma, body, and blend.

Pours into an imperial nonic a honey tinged medium golden with a lacey half finger white head that left multiple "globs" of lace as it settled.Grapefruit really stands out in the nose along with other citrusy oils, some caramel dough is there as well.A good shot of bright citrus upfront on the palate along with some green herbalness, quite a hefty doughy malt base wich gives a fair amount of sweetness,I get a little crisp smack in the finish.Another No-Li beer that's underrated in my opinion,I have liked just about all the their beers I have had, alot for that matter.

Golden amber in the nonic glass with plenty of creamy foam. Zingy acidity and spritzy carbonation in the mouth. The aroma doesn't bludgeon you but after some sipping it emerges as an intriguing pleasure. Cedar and green hops with a whiff of the pulp mill.

Overall this is a sharp and aromatic bitter brew, but drinkable enough. It's a little different kind of IPA with the "caramel flavored" Amarillo hops that BeerKangaroo mentions. I can't improve on that unique description. It's a complex and interesting hop with a flowery side, but the grapefruit is pretty strong. Fairly thin body and on the acidic side, which I am not so crazy about.

I think this is a fairly drinkable and quite aromatic IPA with plenty of bitterness for those who bow to the hop mistress. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle.
