22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly cloudy golden amber color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big lemon/lime zest, grapefruit, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, herbal, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate malt balance; with great strength. Taste of lemon/lime zest, orange peel, grapefruit, floral, grass, pine resin, herbal, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of earthy pine/floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon/lime zest, orange peel, grapefruit, floral, grass, pine resin, herbal, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity of bright citrus/pine hops with light-moderate malt presence; with a very crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and resinous sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice DIPA. All around good balance and complexity of resinous citrus/pine hops and light-moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

After their 7% ipa which was really good I had high hopes for this. Given the 8.1% it seems odd that 1% makes this imperial but we'll see.

The pour doesn't provide a huge amount of head. The body is tangerine and golden.

There's a huge amount of ruby grape fruit with a done of sugar and malt.

Passion fruit, ruby grape fruit, caramel, and artificial sweetener. This isn't very good.

Jet Star drinks like a double IPA even though it's rather low in alcohol for the style.

This is a huge pass and just isn't good. There's a fake sugar off flavor in here that's killing this one for me.

IBU of 90 should indicate this is no watered down IPA. Fun & interesting from the first taste. If you want a very Hearty beer this one is it. Not for every occasion but get your beer drinking buddies together to enjoy and critique together. This beer should be enjoyed without food, just the beer.

Poured into an imperial nonic a a clear orange infused medium golden with a tightly formed pne finger white head,a great head and a menacing looking body.Drunken fruits and pine resin in the nose, just like it should be,you can tell it's gonna be sweet and alcoholic but the hops are larege and in charge.I gotta say this is much dryer on the palate than I was expecting, not a big sweet alcohol bomb but also not a big resiny hopped up bomb either.Dryer with a firm maltiness and rsiny hops, the sweetness creeps but the alcohol is pretty big.As I drink more the alcohol gets bigger but it's still not nearly as sweet as many of the style,a resiny almost spearmint-like hoppiness prevails along with alcohol.Another NO-LI winner in my opinion.
