22oz. Black pour, half finger of very light tan. Retained well enough.

Aroma, quite herbal and piney. Anise, bakers chocolate. Some roast, reminiscent of some black ipas.

Taste, definetely on the hoppier side. Some roast malt. More anise. Dark chocolate. Herbal/piney finish. Maybe a little coffee.

Mid body, carbonation was fine for me. Drinks quite easy. Hides the abv well. Just a little dry. Would like more malt and sweetness, but his was still good. Kind of like Coronados RIS or Black Flag.

A - Very deep dark black can't see through this. A head is a 1/4 inch that settles to a pretty sweet lace ring. Nice.
S - Mild roast notes, some chocolate stank, and some anise.
T - It's quite good smooth chocolate tones, some hop bitterness, and a touch of roasty twang.
M - Much more heavier than most imperial stouts its medium bodied at most.
Overall hops are mild and heavy roasts are not very acidic. i like it.

12oz bottle from the CoOp poured into my Hill Farmstead tulip.

A: Dark, dense opaque pour with a large dark khaki head and real good spotty lacing.

S: Leafy hops and espresso and booze dominate...wasn't expecting the booze...some dark fruits, char, and a roasty malt backbone round out the nose.

T: More espresso/bitterness followed by some moderate hoppiness and char...dark fruits, sweet alcohol, some faint toasted sugars and dark caramel.

MF: Full bodied, moderately bitter, and definitely a bit boozy for 9.5%. Dry, lingering finish.

O: This one was ok, I was expecting a bit more of a 'balanced' Imperial Stout. The espresso and hop character was nice, but the booze was a little distracting, and there wasn't as much of a chocolate/roast/malt backbone as I thought there could have been.

Foamy looking light brown head... a little short lived.. okay lacing.. the brew is black, but appears a little thin.

Smell is also a bit thin... dark roasted malts with a pretty pronounced hoppiness for the style, doesn't seem to be enough residual malt backbone to carry the big players.

Flavor pretty much mirrors the aromas... dark/astringent malt with little chocolate/residual sweetness... bitterness from the hops combines with the bitter malts and makes it seem a little one dimensional...

Body is light for the style... medium with a sorta prickly carbonic bite.

Okay for sure... especially given the lower price and approachable 12oz bottle... but I had higher hopes I guess.

Pours two fingers of tan head on a black body. Beautiful.
The aroma is rich molasses, caramel and roasted malt. Really nice.
The taste is deep. Molasses, burnt wood, a little earth, roasted malt, lemon bitterness towards the end. Excellent profile and balance.
The texture is thick with low carbonation.
Outstanding.

On tap @ Hangar on the Wharf:

Into a snifter:

A: dark black colored body with a super slim white filmy head that once it dies the lacing that forms is slightly clingy yet speckles in a nicely done adequate sort of fashion (nice pace)

S: roasted coffee bean up front with some molasses and caramel coming out but also targets a generous amount of booziness with some pine coming through as well

T: mainly sweet through burnt caramel and espresso, there's some nuttiness floating around in the flavoring; super roasted coffee bean sort of aftertaste with a dry coffee finish

M: medium to heavy, not exactly sessionable - super sipper; carbonation seems to be good for the style and for me as its somewhat smooth for the most part

O: really nice Double Stout by No-Li, I'm glad I'm starting to find their better brews. To No-Li, keep sending to Alaska!
