500ml bottle. A Scottish Ale from Lithuania - gotta love that Euro Union sensibility!
This beer pours a clear, medium bronzed amber hue, with three fingers of puffy, bubbly, and averagely foamy off-white head, which leaves a few instances of dried cow skull lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.
It smells of bready, lightly crackery and faintly roasted caramel malt, well bruised apples and pears, a hard water metallic flintiness, earthy yeast, and weedy, dead leafy hops. The taste is slightly toasted bready caramel malt, more overripe drupe fruitiness, yeasty sourdough, an indistinct low-level spiciness, and earthy, leafy, and weedy hops.
The carbonation is fairly soft and innocuous, barely a frothy note to be found, the body medium-light in weight, especially for the style, and generally quite smooth, the fruitiness aiding and abetting here. It finishes on the sweet side, the caramel malt gaining a few toffee-leaning friends, while the hops start to return from whence they came (i.e. across the Baltic and North Seas).
Not a bad rendition of the style, but nothing really worthy of tilting my imaginary kilt, as it were. Easy to drink, sweet, like it should be, but lacking a certain something, an offset that tells you - it'll be all right, me son, have at 'er, 'til ye can't have no more. Or something to that effect.

crystal clear, amber body, white head with coarse and fine bubbles, reducing fast to a rim
aroma is medium roasted malt and its typical metallic accent that is not unpleasant here, floral hops are noticeable.
taste is malt sweet, fruity esters, little lager sourness and some hop bitterness
refreshing, medium body, pleasant fine carbonation
Would prefer this anytime over a bland lager, however I am also not overly impressed by the beer which is my first of this style.

500ml bottle poured into pint glass 15/6/14
A clear light copper with plenty of bubbles of all sizes feeding a short lived finger of tan foam that leaves no lace
S hard toffee, hay, some apple, a little spice I can't place, lots of dark bread, not bad
T a little nutty, lots of fruit, some earthy notes, not really sure what's "Scottish" about this one but its decent
M lighter side of medium, not quite creamy, slick on the palate, earthy, herbal finish
O better then I was expecting but that being said I'd take this over a bland euro lager any day of the week
Not exactly a Scottish Ale but its drinkable, not something I'd look for again but no reason not to try it
