I never really been overly impressed with Long Trail's beer. Not that they're bad but that nothing really stands out.
With Limbo that changes everything. I seen this at my bottle shop, seen that it was pretty fresh so I picked it up.
I wasn't particular impressed with the appearance and thought same old Long Trail. The color I thought was light being a golden amber. The head was frothy but small with some lacing. The clarity was hazy and carbonation was scant at best.
Getting to the aroma and this just knocked me out. Got to be top five aromatic beers, got to be.
It's all hops here with plenty of tropical fruits, citrus notes floral and pine. It really smells good.
The taste was superb too. Like the nose all hops with some sweet 2 row and caramel just to reign in the hops slightly. Plenty of citrus grapefruit, peaches, tropical fruits herbal, floral and pine. Very enjoyable to drink and only mildly bitter.
I have to hand it to the boys on the trail because this is a show stopper. Could easily best a lot of the more famous ones.
