A - Foamy white 1.5 finger head atop an red amber brown translucent body. After head dwindled, enough still remained to get those nice aromas.
S - Malts, cheddar cheese, nuts. Incredibly, strong rye smell came forth as it warmed. Served in a pint glass. Will try in a snifter next time to get more volatiles.
T - Very complex. Initially spiced, slightly sweet, and even a bit peppery. Then it turns slightly bitter, and ends lightly sticky, sweet, and warming on the tongue from some alcohol detectable in the finish.
M - Excellent medium body. Nice foam from the head. Sticky and bitter finish leaves you satisfied, but wanting another sip.
D - Very drinkable, especially with a flavorful meal of cheese/beef/pork.
Will buy again, possibly a six pack!
