I was predisposed not to think much of this because I was less than impressed with Long Trail's wit and especially its blackberry wheat. But it was a pleasant surprise.
Nice copper-colored pour with a one-finger cream-colored head that diminishes quickly to surface film, but sticks around and leaves some lacing. The nose is dominated by biscuity yeast and some fruity notes with the slightest trace of hop sting. The taste is very cookielike (something I generally like, but maybe a little too much here) with a little bit of butteriness -- perhaps a touch of diacetyl? A little bit of hops at the end.
A little thin and watery in the mouth -- needs more snap. But it goes down pretty easy, if not all that interesting.
Nonetheless, a good solid session brew that's pretty versatile with food.
