Just recently had this flagship beer of Long Trail after being a long-time fan of their more recent offerings.
As Norther-German Albier, this particular example isn't bad or a domestice.
Pours very clear and clean, light coppery/brown hue; however, the head retention is somewhat lacking.
The nose reveals the buscuity aroma one would expect with a beer of this style. Hop aroma is non-existant which is appropriate for an Alt.
The flavor is mildly sweet and yet, at the same time, balanced. The finish has the same buscuity flavor as the aroma suggests.
In the mouth, carbonation is evident along with a medium body. The beer is appropriately chewy.
This is beer would qualify, in my opinion, as an acceptable session beer. It's clean, refreshing and enjoyable with out any predominant aspects which may grow tiresome.
