Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Long Trail pint glass. Long Trail does provide a "best by" inscription on their bottles but unfortunately I can't read this one. For what its worth, the other bottles in this variety pack were fresh.
A - Hazy straw yellow with little to no head retention. It was able to muster about an inch tall after the pour but it fizzled quickly and what remained sat around the rim of the glass.
S - Citrus scents of lemon and orange along with sweet wheaty malts. Not a strong scent but what's here is good.
T - Starts out with a nice tangy citrus flavor, followed by sweet wheat malts. However, it doesn't finish great, the taste being kind of soapy with some seltzer water qualities. The yeast and some honey like flavors are present on the end as well but don't subdue the off tastes I mentioned early. Overall, it tastes good but nothing great.
M - Crisp and refreshing with a medium body. Leaves the mouth slightly fuzzy.
O - I have a sort of childhood affinity for Long Trail. It's a brewery I routinely went to at the beginning of my craft beer experience. However, as I expand my horizons, I see it more as a solid alternative than something I'm overly excited about. And that seems to apply to this brew. Its an good addition in a solid variety pack but probably not something I'd seek out regularly.
