Growler from Dave's Bellport Beer & Soda
Nice amber, straw yellow.
Big fluffy head. Falls in 10-12 minutes.
Some nice lacing.
Nose: Big. Very well balanced between malt & hops - very integrated. Hops a bit more to the fore & bigger. Earthy grapefruit w/slight pine. Elegant & big.
Palate: Rich & big, packed & firm. Lots of malt & richness, but seems dryish, earthy & stern at the same time.
Sweetness is there, but understated, especially after first second or two - partially hidden by the amazing balance at least as much as the hops.
But hops there are - grapefruit, earthy w/pine/mandarin orange/key lime complexities.
Body is large & powerful w/long, extended flavor.
Great body, but also great drinkability for an 8.6% ABV 2X
This really hits an absolutely perfect sweet spot in the balance of malt & hops.
The balance is kinda genius, in fact.
Haven't yet tasted a better DIPA/Imperial
* Seems slightly maltier than bottled version, but hits the same malt/hops sweet spot - really amazing balance.
This brewer knows exactly what they're doing. Great beer like this is the girl, the time, & the place all rounded up together.
Big, Big Cheers for this brew!

Poured into a Due South Brewing Co. snifter. There's a freshness code stamped on the bottleneck but it's smeared and unreadable.
A- Pours a hazy dark amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick bubbly ring around the edge of the glass and some small bubbly patches of surface foam. Tight clusters of semi-resilient lacing.
S- Musty, earthy hop aroma. Smells like New Zealand hops but I'm not sure.
T- Similarly earthy in the flavor with a bit of citrus on top. Zesty hop bitterness is assertive yet enjoyable. Easy drinking for the ABV.
M- Tingly and bright with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.
O- A very smooth and flavorful DIPA. I only got a single but I should've picked up a 4- or 6-pack.
