Picked up a bottle of this on sale for something like 2.75.
Pours a hazy orange with all kinds of head that retains and laces beautifully. There are a few white particulates floating around in my glass, not quite sure what they are- perhaps this glass wasn't as clean as I though it was?
Smells heavily of citrus, above all else. Floral hops are big in this one as well as some pine. Don't get my wrong- the beer smells great but compared to other DIPA's I've experienced this doesn't blow my mind.
I'm loving the balance on this one--Citrus flavors really come through, as well as grapefruit and even some more exotic fruit flavors that I'm not used to like apricot and tangerine. Bitterness is kept in check well. The mouthfeel is medium with decent carbonation that makes for an altogether drinkable beer at 8.6 abv. I'm barely noticing the alcohol.

Poured into a Due South Brewing Co. snifter. There's a freshness code stamped on the bottleneck but it's smeared and unreadable.

A- Pours a hazy dark amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick bubbly ring around the edge of the glass and some small bubbly patches of surface foam. Tight clusters of semi-resilient lacing.

S- Musty, earthy hop aroma. Smells like New Zealand hops but I'm not sure.

T- Similarly earthy in the flavor with a bit of citrus on top. Zesty hop bitterness is assertive yet enjoyable. Easy drinking for the ABV.

M- Tingly and bright with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.

O- A very smooth and flavorful DIPA. I only got a single but I should've picked up a 4- or 6-pack.
