A nice Xmas holiday dessert to finish off the long day.
Pours a creamy fluffy head that continues rising up till it hits almost 2 fingers before slowly fading back with some lines of lacing and large bubbles popping, over a hazy sediment laden copper reddish orange color.
Nose starts with pumpkin spices, cinnamon, clove, allspice, hint of nutmeg and nutty malts as well, toasty reddish biscuit like malts, candy pumpkin and a bit of a pumpkin pie aroma, candy aromas, toffee, caramel, etc, and maybe a hint of grassy bitter hops but more bitterness from spices.
Taste starts with toasty biscuit, chewy bready malts, caramel, biscuit, toffee, candy, etc. Bitter spices, and plenty of them, allspice, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, hint of cardamom, etc, and more pumpkin pie spices, as well as pumpkin from candied pumpkin and pie as well. The spices aren't really strong but bring a bitter earthy root taste and never ending flavor, almost like a root beer like root and earthy reddish spice I can't label. A light warming booze comes through more on the back end especially as it warms, bringing a slight warming toasty flavor and even a hint of a fusel boozy taste somehow. Finish is long with bitter spices, a hint of bitter hops, little buttery flavor, biscuit and toffee malts, a little pumpkin flavor too.
Mouth is med bodied, fluffy carbonation, and a bit of of warming booze especially as the beer warms.
Overall OK but not great, decent malt profile, and spices don't destroy it but do come on a bit too bitter and slightly unpleasant. On top of that, the pumpkin is there but not great tasting overall, and booze comes on late and, despite not being very boozy, it brings a slight fusel like flavor. in the middle of the food chain as far as pumpkin beers go.

I poured this beer it has dark mahogany color body with a small head. The aroma is of cinnamon and brown sugar. The taste is malt upfront then the spices come through. The cinnamon and nutmeg and brown sugar. The mouthfeel is smooth and overall a good imperial pumpkin ale.
