Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Born on date reads 02/01/11. I was really excited to find this at my local store, as I was aware of its retirement and hadn't realized they brought it back. Too bad it wasn't the hefeweizen...
A - Pours a clear orange. Head disappears quickly with the absolute minimum amount of lace atop the beer.
S - Slightly sweet, malty, a bit of yeast. There's something off about the smell, kinda funky. It's rather faint on the nose.
T - Malty, flavors of honey and citrus. Finishes well with some breadiness. Kind of tangy at times.
M - Smooth, good carbonation, light to medium bodied.
D - It goes down easy and is flavorful enough to make you want to have another. I understand their hefeweizen (formerly their spring/ summer seasonal) wasn't selling but they should brew something that separates itself from the pack. It's almost too similar to their pale ale unfortunately, which is a disappointment from a Long Trail fan.
