A friend of mine has a house up near Killington and were made stopping by Long Trail part of our route. After a long hike or full day of skiing, theres nothing better than cramming yourself uncomfortably full on basic burgers and great beer.
Atmosphere: Its currently being completely updated and the restaurant area of the brewery is growing. The old one was pretty cool with picnic tables all around, and all you can eat pop corn. Im curious to see what the new area will be like.
Food: I dont think Ive ever eaten there when I wouldnt have eaten anything I found trail side, so Im sure my taste buds were bias. However, from what I remember, the food was basic burgers, fries, onion rings you know, the healthy stuff. Its pretty good food, and a definite end to a great day.
Beer: Long Trails beer is awesome. Ive heard rumors that the management is chaos (the owner is notorious for being an ass), but until that effects the quality of the beer, Ill keep buying it. The quality of the beer is outstanding, in my opinion. Ill rate the beers individually, but overall, Long Trail Brewery is one of my favorites.
Bottom line: If youre skiing at Killington, you most likely drive by Long Trail. Its well worth a visit.
