On draught at Indie Ale House. Reviewed from notes

A - Poured a nice golden colour with a perfect finger and a half of white head. Dissipates rather quickly but leaves nice lacing.

S - Mango, sweet pineapple, grapefruit the citra is pouring out of this beer.

T - Hops all over your palate. All of the great tropical notes from the nose as well as this hop resinous take over when drinking. The bitterness stays on the palate for a long time. Truly a great tasting IPA.

M - Light mouthfeel, really easy drinking 6.6% beer. Again, the hops really coat the tongue, its so great.

O - My favourite of the GLB beers, and the best IPA out of Ontario in my opinion. I liken it to Zombie Dust, which is also a single hop citra beer. I look forward to it again and again and again. Also note that out of the bottle, this beer is really good, but not as hop forward as the pint I had on tap.

On tap at Burgerbar in Toronto.

Clear amber with a soft off white head. Nose is slight musty, grapefruit, husky grain and a boozy tinge. Big juicy grapefruit flavour and sharp resinous body. Mouth feel itself is soft with barely-there carbonation. Hints of apple and bright fruitiness. Solid bitterness doesn't detract from excellent drink ability.

Bomber from the brewery, under the guise of Burts Reserve Stache.

Pours coppery orange with a massive foamy tan / orange hue head. Nose is bright with grapefruit, citrus, oily hops galore: fantastic. Taste is rich with the hops, but quickly diminished by the balancing caramel malt. Pineapple, citrus, pear, and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is decent, medium bodied.

Overall, the absolute best beer from Great Lakes I've tried and quite frankly the best Ontario made IPA. Why this isn't their flagship beer and readily available is shockingly confounding. Get this beauty into LCBO Great Lakes! Incredible beer!

bomber into nonic pint. can't find any sort of date code on the bottle

a: this seriously looks like hazy mango/peach juice... gave it an aggressive pour and there was a quarter-finger of head. i'm confused. but that's not to say this beer looks bad, it's just not what i expected

s: citra oh my goodness. an extremely vibrant and pungent melange of guava, mango, pineapple, orange, passionfruit, grapefruit, malt. feels like i am about to drink an alcoholic and carbonated version of some sort of tropical fruit juice. i'm blown away

t: mirrors the nose. a very bright punch of the aforementioned fruits with a subdued caramel/bread malt backbone and an appropriate moderate bitter pine character. i'm getting some sort of mandarin orange notes in here too. very citrusy and excellent

m: this beer is a bit watery and could use more body. i'd also like a little more carbonation as it's on the milder side of things

o: an unbelievably delicious beer with an explosive tropical fruit presence in both the nose and taste. a bit more malt flavour would add some balance, and the mouthfeel could use some work, but this is still a must-try super fruity brew

Bomber from the LCBO. Pours a cloudy medium orange with a luxurious thick white head leaving a fair amount of lacing. Aromas of citrus and mango, some molasses with a touch of pine. Very creamy mouthfeel. Tastes are of orange peel, but not overly bitter. Almost creamsickle-like at times. Light caramel backbone especially on the swallow. Overall I am a growing fan of Citra hops and this one illustrates all of the good things that type of hop brings to the beer glass.

Pours a beguiling hazed orange with a compact, very long lasting head. Foam drapes the glass on the way down. Orange oil, lemon rind and grapefruit hop aromas dominate the nose. A bit of biscuity malt in the back. A wall of Citra in the first sip, lots of orange, lemon, apricot, grapefruit, tropical fruit, celery and other hop flavors mingle in a sublime interplay. A firm malt balast keeps things in check. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy with carbonation. Moderate bitterness and citrus in the long finish.

This is a fantastic IPA and an excellent showcase of this fine hop. Lots of hop complexity and very hop forward. A must try.

A - Pours with a thick, foamy head that lasts a good while. This beer has a beautiful hazy amber hue.

S - Citrus, primarily grapefruit, followed by some malty sweetness and some resin. Absolutely lovely smelling beer.

T - Like the smell, citrus, light malt sweetness and resin. A bit of pine as well. This is very tasty I really enjoy this. I find that the balance between the bitterness and sweetness is right where I like it. My palate really enjoys this beer.

M - Medium carbonation.

O - This is the best Canadian IPA that I have ever had. Really good stuff.

Pours golden in color, cloudy with 2-3 fingers of persistent, cloudy off-white head. Nice lacing. Really nice nose, lots of citrus (oranges and grapefruit), pine and sweet caramel malts to round things out. The taste follows suit with big juicy hops up front with a great malt backbone (bread and biscuits) to balance things out. The finish id long, dry and clean and full of great bittering hop goodness. A really delicious IPA!

Beer is cloudy orange. Medium sized white head. Great retention and lacing.

Nose is full of juicy citrus notes. Grapefruit and orange stick out. A very sticky smell, if you permit the synaesthesia.

Following the nose, taste has a great citrus flavour. Grapefruit, lemon and orange. Very juicy. Fairly bitter. A bit of a caramel malt backing, but definitelty a hop focused beer.

Great feel. Medium bodied, moderate natural carbonation. Sticky.

Overall, very good indeed. Between a 4 and 4.5 for taste for me.

650ml bomber poured into tulip 30/5/12 bottle sent out by liamt07 Cheers dude

A hazy orange copper that glows, lots of tiny bubbles struggling to make their way to the thick looking liquid, a thick inch of dense foam sits around for a few minuets leaving a couple partial rings of lace

S I might believe this was juice if I was blind folded, big tropical notes sweet orange, mango, tangerine, and pineapple come out strong with a little grapefruit. There's not much cat tinkle this hops known for its a tropical fruit blast and I'm digging it

T not a complete hop runaway with a little caramel malt and some lemon rind and pine coming out, not quite the tropical fruit blast I could smell but still solid

M fairly full bodied and the tiny bubbles cream it up a little, mild bite for 70 IBU's and a piney rind finish lingers

O this ones hitting all the right buttons this evening, smells near perfect, feels great and solid flavor. What more do you need?

When I think about it I've had plenty of Citra centric beers lately and this is one of the better uses of the hop I've encountered. I'd love to drink this again but somehow doubt I'll get the chance, for now I'll just thank liamt07 again for sending me one.
