A hoppy, dry ale featuring a fantastic bouquet of Cascade hops. Deep gold in color with a tight, snow white head and pronounced hop flavor.

Aah, the always classic, always crisp, always clean taste of American Pale Ale is in good hands with Smoky Mountain Brewery!
The ale opens with the expected copper-amber hue and backed with brilliant clarity. A mid-statured head caps the ale with a slightly off-white froth. Receding to a thin sheet to skim the glass, the head holds firm and laces the glass with broken rings and patterns of lace. This is a handsome but not obnoxious looking beer!
Lead with grapefruit, grass, stems, and pine needles- the aromas are hop-forward, yet ever so slightly. A supporting backbone of malt reveal caramel, crust and a hint of spicy ginger to nearly balance the scent.
Leading into taste, the early palate is crisp and clean with a straight-forward caramel taste but with little of the associated sweetness. The middle palate opens the hoppy complements of citrus peels (particularly grapefruit), fresh-cut grass, and soft sappy pine. Its finish of spicy hop bitterness is mildly stemmy, leafy, and filled with the resins of Pacific Northwest hops. Crisp and clean- this ale is as refreshing as it is characterful.
Medium bodied throughout, the beer's malty body carries embedded carbonation for a creamy upstart. But the dissipation of carbonation and sweetness leaves a super clean, dry, and refreshingly crisp mouthfeel to finish. Mild alcohol warmth only adds to the spicy character and reinforces dryness in a short-lived linger.
Simply put- this is the quintessential taste of the classic American Pale Ale through and through.

Color: Clear, copper with a light head which dissipates quickly
Smell: Slight sweetness with hints of caramel and a spicy, pine aroma.
Taste: Malty backbone with piney hops shining through. Clean hop characteristic lingers on the finish.
Mouth Feel: A crisp feel hits you at the front and lingers through the swallow.
Overall: While not my absolute favorite pale ale, this one is a great “go to” after a long day hiking Mount LeConte!

Mild but pleasant enough APA. Pours a clear light amber color with a very small white head that quickly fades to a thin covering on the top of the glass. Aroma and taste are somewhat malty, sweet with mild grassy hoppiness. Mouthfeel is light, with a little bitterness. An OK lawnmower beer/thirst quencher. Not much else!!!!

My parents brought back a mixed six for me to try. The beer poured a clear copper with no head and no lace. The scent was nondescript. The taste ran slightly bitter. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with subtle carbonation. Overall it's ok.
